EVE Alliance Tournament Discussion

We are in this tournament not because of it immediate prizes or fame or popularity. This tournament is an important stepping stone for both CCP moving towards "more tournaments" and for larger corporate sponsorships putting up RL money. I think it is in the interest of every team/player that enjoys tournaments to make this work. While this tournament is sort of stuck in the middle between an Alliance Tournament and a professional type eSport it is moving in that direction. Like I have repeatedly mentioned if there were just a few more in-game prizes this tournament would be +ev to use a poker term. Like 1 of each of the unique tournament ships to the top 2 teams (or an Impoc) or something to satisfy our ePeen.

Own3d put up the prize money and we have to give them props for taking sponsorship to a higher level with cash prizes. So we are in the awkward middle ground where the prizes are sorta low but the idea is very good. In addition this is an excellent chance for ANYONE in EVE who wants to compete to do so. Any pilot in EVE can make or join a team. I think a lot of people are sitting back waiting to see what happens before getting involved. I can only imagine that the next one will have bigger prizes and more teams.
