Hi!

We will be holding a mass test on Buckingham on Tuesday, November 13th, at 20:00 UTC (= EVE time).

What exactly is being tested?
  • Performance of the Retribution expansion
  • New explosions, ship models, ...
  • New brackets, new damage notifications
  • Crimewatch
  • EVE-DUST link

How to connect to Buckingham for this test:

Test steps:
  • Meet in D2-HOS
  • Jump to RQH-MY
  • Jump to Mantenault
  • Warp all to one district
  • EVE-DUST tests
  • Short PvP-fight
  • Jump to RQH-MY
  • Prepare gate-camp in D2-HOS
  • Fight in D2-HOS

Joining FW corporations
For the EVE-DUST link tests we need as many players as possible enrolled in Faction Warfare. Feel free to join with your alliance or corporation. We will provide a fast way to get into the militia corp of any faction - just join the "CorpMove" channel on Buckingham before the mass test and follow the instructions there.

What else should I know?
  • We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme for this
  • Please bring a good mix of ships! We will provide cynos for capital ships .
  • Skill points will be awarded for this mass test
  • Please run logserver during the mass test, if possible.

Not decided yet - I will update the instructions as soon as the system is decided. I assume we will start in a FW system (for Crimewatch and Dust interaction) and then make a few jumps into 0.0 (for more PvP).

Just a question, when do characters get mirrored before mass tests?

The last mirror was on the 22nd of October. There won't be any further mirror before the mass test. Please post in the appropriate thread if your account is not active.

Hey. I'm completely unfamiliar with servers other than Tranguilty - and mass testing at all. So my question is - When i decide to participate - if this is gonna be beneficial in any way for my Tranguilty character if i log in for mass testing? These bonus skill points applies to "real game environment" on main server or its just for my "alter ego" on test server?

Best regards to all CCP team. You guys are doing great job!

This will be my first Mass Test.
Do I need to prefit some ships? If not, will there be prefitted shps available in the test system?
Are there any ship restrictions?
Would you like to have people pre-agree to use any specific ships or modules that need testing with the new changes?
For example, do you need people to launch payloads from PI to ensure this still funtions properly with Dust changes?
(I appologize if these seem like noob questions, but I am, uh, a noob.

Yes. That would be most convenient because you wont be given any. Most of the time I have participated these tests a ship that can do combat at medium distances (up to about 50km) has been adequate.

The market is seeded. Use it to fit a ship or three.

Jen Lalket wrote:

Mostly no. There has been occations when capital ships have been forbidden though. Also (IIRC) T3 and missiles ships have both been forbidden once each due to bug related issues.

Previously the devs have made their needs clear, I'm entirely sure they will do so this time too.

The general rule is any type of subcap is good.

Typically we will be 'go here', 'do that' , 'fire at this', 'spam that'', 'create as much lag as possible' Normally in two or three fleets, sometimes there will be a capital fleet, but that is uncommon.

Generally I take an expensive toy as the loss of it on on the test servers is of no consequence.

Once the test is finished it generally deteriorates into a free for all :)

My previous mass tests were a lot of fun.

Regarding ship restrictions: I am not sure yet about capitals - it depends on the number of jumps. All other ships are welcome for sure - I would love a good mix. I'll update the thread tomorrow with more details and the test steps.

For sure on Buckingham and they will also be applied to Duality, if we open Duality again. I will only apply them to Singularity, when we need more EVE players on Singularity - but at the moment we want to concentrate on Buckingham.

Regarding ship fitting and ISK spent on the test server market.
ISK lost on the test server, is it reflected back to the tranquillity server, or am I free to spend as much ISK as I have in my wallet without fear of losing it on tranquillity?

Will we get any SP's added to Tranquility for this Mass Test?

You may spend as much as you wish (most things are priced at 100 Isk), and it does not effect in any way what you do on TQ. There is no connection between TQ and any of the test servers.

Also do not consider trying to ‘spy’ on the test server as most player owned things are not displayed such as towers etc.

Great – always trouble in front of a masstest!

The repair.exe calculated a plus 1 GB patch. My experience with that is, that is doesn’t works and the many hours big download is just for fun. What to do?

Repair.exe will revert the client back to Tranquility.

Best to start the launcher again after the current downtime, it will hopefully fix the broken files. For the case that this does not work you can try to delete the broken files and then start the launcher.

Yeah, that does not work and neither does a full replace with a tranquility version.

I'd post more error messages but this terrible parser keeps freaking out about html...

Buckingham is at the moment down for a short reboot - it should be back up in a few minutes.

edit: And Buckingham is back online - please try to update now.
