Why people fly with the NPC FW corps

I regularly see allot of pilots in FW flying with the NPC corps and apart from the defualt "spies" response im trying to work out why you would do it. Allot of corps ourselves included have no problem with people flying solo and with EVE being an MMO i dont know why people wouldnt want to be involved with other players, you have backup if you need it, other people to talk to and the option to get involved in the larger fights. We try and gather as many of these into corp as we can and are still recruiting right now.

Is it a case of people finding it hard to find a corp to join?

some fly in them because they need to try and prove themselves to a better corp, than a scrub corp that will take anyone on day one.

I think there are a lot of reasons people fly in FW NPC corps.

First and foremost, the FW "farmers" will stay in an NPC corp because it lowers their risk. Player corps can be wardec'd, even by members of their own faction, and many people in FW are pissed off enough about the farmers they may do it, particularly if the farmer in question is whoring other people's LP or otherwise being a pain.

I also think there are a lot of new players in the NPC corps who just finished the tutorial missions and see the option to join FW, but don't yet understand the mechanics of FW and player corps. These players will either eventually filter into a player corp, or get popped a few times and rage quit, either from FW or from the game as a whole.

There are also a handful of players who use the NPC corp as a strategic mask. These players are typically solo PVPers, and they play on the assumption that anyone who is in a NPC corp is new and/or incompetent.

Of course, there are "lone wolf" players out there that enjoy the game, but don't really want to be a part of a corp or formal social structure in game. Or they just can't be assed to bother joining. They may have any number of reasons for wanting to be in FW, but have no desire to be in a player corp.

Lastly, there are the people who do want to prove themselves to an "elite pvp" corp, and want to reach a certain level of competence, or at least a certain kill board stat, so they can join said corp.

maybe they fly solo and don't care

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

There are also ppl who dont join a corp in eve because they think the api requirement of any sereus corp in eve is lame...

There are other, less common explanations too...

Their main could be in a lesser nul alliance that let's alts make isk in hi sec but prefers the alts stay in npc corps.

It could be a collection of friends who want to roam together but do not have the skills trained or the desire to firm their own corp.

They could be special farming alts, with their mains in another militia (either as a hold over from the earlier updated fw time or because they like the alt faction LP loot more).

They could like fw but be between fw corps.

It could even he a forum alt they want to give more credit too than just being in a generic npc corp.

Some fly in NPC corps so they don't have to deal with player corps politics.

Some fly to avoid the player corp coms with all their colorful metaphores.

NPC corp offers the 0% tax rate, free localized war, missions and non-faction war protection.
