Rorqual's ship maintenance bay

Why Rorqual has this stupid 'Due to its specialization towards industrial operations, its ship maintenance bay is able to accommodate only industrial ships, mining barges and their tech 2 variants' ship maintenance bay limitation? I don't get the logic behind that. Please CCP, remove it.

Because it's a mining support vessel.

Want to ship other stuff, train a carrier.

According to that dumb logic carrier shouldn't be able to ship mining barges and haulers, but it ships.

ships have different roles. rorquals mine, carriers fight. rorquals can carry mining ships, carriers can carry fighting ships. i see no "dumb logic" in that. now put some anti-inflammatory on you butthurt ass and go away

But a carrier isn't highly specialised one way or the other. A rorqual is.

this. carriers can mine if you want, but a rorq can't exactly go into combat

there ARE a few KMs where a rorqual was used to kill a random arse roaming lowsec, though they don't hold a candle to the number of KMs generated by carriers and their friends.

Personally, I think someone just bought a Rorq without knowing what it can and can't do (maybe even bought the character that goes in it). Just waiting for the thread about why the rorqual can't jump gates...

Personally, I think someone just has nothing relative to say, trying to look pro. Orca is also very specialized, but it can ship all kind of ships. Barges can use combat drone. Why barges use combat drones? They are highly specialized and should't be able to use combat drones, only mining, according to your dumbness.

Since when are drones a part of the ship, they are an addition.

And as far as I"m aware mining barges CAN'T fit guns/launchers cause of the reason that they are mining vessels, so they are already limited to their purpose.

Why the Orca doesn't have the limitation is unknown to me, but instead of removing it from the Rorq it should be added to the Orca (and then maybe make a "mini-carrier" for high-sec).

But from your posts here all I can say: U mad bro?

Thats stupid.
A ship shouldnt need to be specialised to get some types of ships in his ship maintenance bay.
A ship maintenance bay should be able to load ships as its named.

Also the orca can store combat vessels so why couldnt the rorqual?

Edit : just read the question on previous message...

The maintenance bay of the Rorqual has twice the size of the Orca, and can e.g. store two battleship where the Orca can't even store one. The Rorqual has a lot of utility compared to the Orca, jump drive, 3 gang links, capital mods, remote shield transfer range bonus, 100% extra dmg/hitp on drones, can use 5 heavy drones, 1M m3 maintaince bay.

I guess CCP just decided to limited "thinking outside the box", by saying i would only store mining vessels. Personally i can't really see the logic in the Rorqual having this restriction, outside mining it just seems like a expensive gimped carrier.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

How about we compromise and change it from a limitation of only industrials to non-industrials get a volume penalty.

Role: Non Industrial ships require double their actual volume in the Ship Maintenance Bay.

The crew is really good at 'stacking' mining barges but they can accommodate cruisers if they need to. They're not just very good at it.

I'd rather see a new form of Rorkal/JF jump capable but only able to load ships and ammo. I had this issue with one of my alts:

Orca can't even transport a fitted battleship but it's nice to haul small stuff some ore and small ships. My problem is that in null this is an horrible ship transport method.

Since said toon is essentially Industrial trained and is JF capable I start looking at the Rorkal but then surprise...can't use it to haul my combat ships right and left in null.
This means I had to train BS5 drone skills I'll never use with that toon and carriers only to move ships around which is silly as possible choices for players and specialised toons like mine. Then you can always tell me to pick a freighter...and leave the same amount required for 4 full fitted carriers just to haul ships. This is not a choice, it's an obvious lack of dedicated ship for said role without the unnecessary silliness of training stuff just for the sake of training it.
