You are not the target audience.

Probably be better than the last 3, but that's not saying much.

Pretty sure all super weapons end up with a hole in them that you can drop a match down and cause the entire thing to explode.

But... you don't have a hat. Nor hair ! Lol

Also, there's enough material up the wazoo in the expanded universe to cover just about anything, but I guess they'll actually write completely different stuff either way (it's a bit too dark for the target audience).
Kids (mostly pre-teen or early teens) were the target audience in 4, or even 5 out of 6 SW movies so far ("The Empire Strikes Back" was more for late-period teenagers, and "The Return of the Jedi" had a bit for each type of audience).

Can't really apply the same standards as we have now. Back in that era The Dark Crystal was a children's movie.

Most of the deaths are non-human, there's a few threats of zombifications and such, and the most potentially disturbing part for a child audience might be the "sucking of life-force" from the podlings.
Not exactly the most friendly of movies, but a kid movie nevertheless, and would still easily get a PG rating these days IMO.

In comparison, we have ESB where the main character gets rough-housed by an alien polar bear whose arm he slices off to escape, gets nearly frozen to death, looks pretty beat up after the bacta tank, he faces "force Vader" in the cave, decapitates him, then his own face shows up, a secondary character gets tortured (offscreen, but it gets pretty screamy) then gets frozen in carbonite, then the main character gets increasingly pummeled by Vader culminating in his hand getting sliced off and almost dying again.
I'd say it's significantly more frightening to a younger audience. The key being all that bad stuff happens to the character they're most likely to identify with and his friends.

The new Animated Clone Wars Series is way worse then that and it comes on at 9 AM on kids networks.

I remember one episode they are desperately looking for a missing Jedi and at the end they find him. Next episode he is tortured to death in the first 3 minutes and they are like find me another Jedi.

It is pretty good.
