You are one of the people that called for CCP relocate assets, and I was one of the people against it. And I was chastised heavily for being against it.

This is an eve is dying/not dying thread, which is what i was being smug about. Keep the political stuff in the political thread.

The CSM did not call for people to be fired. The CSM did not call for people in community to slander their favorite games developer publicly and loudly over an optional vanity cash shop.

CCP are absolutely not free from blame here, but we, as members of the community, need to support CCP in this time of uncertainty. Anything less than this is selfish, disgusting and petulant infantile behavior and I will not associate myself with it.

I intend to use what little power I have to promote this game moreso than I ever have before.

You can stop kissing ass now.

Now I see even less reasons to pay for multiple subscriptions because latest news smells like potential bankruptcy thus payments cannot be considered as type of investments (to resell characters later) anymore.

I feel like we'll face massive characters sales wave and prices drop.

You really showed them. Way to stick it to the man.

If he sits on them and never cashes them in it actually messes up accounting for CCP.

he already bought them. CCP already got their money. he can bronze them and stick them on his virtual mantelpiece, it doesn't matter.

Does an account that runs only on PLEX even count as a "sub", I wonder?

Was it or was it not the CSM that was ramping up discontent against CCP with media outlets recently or did my eyes decieve me? Your moral highground seems a little shaky.

Blaming the community for what has occured is complete hypocrisy, when the CSM was literally drawing sabres on the direction EVE was going.

And regarding the cash shop, I don't believe it has any place in a sanbox game. It would seem that the CSM have failed to recognize that there actually is a number of people who do not believe it should be in EVE either, does that mean you have failed the EVE players with your flippancy regarding the NEX store?

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

Paid is paid - someone paid real life money to bring that PLEX into the game therefore an account run off of PLEX is a paid account.

Yes. It's active and paid for and not a trial. That's the only useful measure. Sure, it may end in a month, but so might a sub.

Its sad that people who play this game have to be such a negative bunch of assholes so often to be frank.

I love Eve, I am glad CCP are focusing on Eve more, I am happy with the way things are going. If you are not happy the solution is very very simple, Im sure you can work it out for yourselves.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Well it seems somebody is being truly naive then. Anyone doubting that something like this would happen is not really living in the real world.

A refocusing of assets can only mean (at least some) people getting fired, people moving and people retasked, you can't retask an entire studio branch nor can you justify the cost of putting people to work in America when the main teams are based in Iceland and shanghai (eve and dust).

That at least some of the community management would get slapped was to be expected as well but I myself would not have expected it to cut this deep.Personally I had put my money on Pann and Zymurgist getting fired. Pann for totally misreading the situation and then compounding a few errors into an even bigger summer of discontent. Zymurgist for doing the same on a smaller level.

I distinctly remember myself thinking that those two where in trouble if the dime on this hole thing would drop our way (the players who protested). Especially Pann who even in her latests talks showed that she herself learned nothing from the mistakes a whole bunch of people at CCP made. But these are personal opinions and I in no way wished for this to happen. Zymurgist especially and I guess Pann (if you consider the past) are both part of EVE in a profound way.

A CSM not realising this is just a sign that they should stick to internet politics and not venture out into real world decision making. I hope other people in the CSM ded realise this and this is why they treaded carefully

Yet if players didn't complain, CCP would never have refocused their attention back to Eve. While it is sad 20% cuts in payroll is going to happen, perhaps just perhaps, CCP will improve Eve to where people will re-activate their accts. Let us hope that is the case. I think CCP has finally realized that their best advertising dept. are the players themselves.

I think its funny that when people whined about sov mechanics, rockets, or anything else the counter was quit. Guess what? People are quitting and now there is instability and lay-offs and here you are still suggesting the same notion that got us into this in the first place. just wow

I reject that. This stuff was going to happen no matter what. This bomb was set by CCP way before Incarna.

The CSM (thought coming to the protesting way late IMO) did what they should have done. And im happy that they brought light to a wider audience of CCPs stinking mess.
