Looking into the new command ship changes that are being consider; wouldn't it be a good idea to change the implant system or at lease just the hardwiring system that is in place at the moment to a new system where it benefits the new changes to come.

For Example:

Each hardwiring has a slot 6-10 assign to them and you can only use it on that slot. How about just taking the slot assignment out of the equation on the actual hardwiring so that you can still use only 5 but be able to use any 5 you want on any of those 5 slots.

Another thing that can be done to keep it more balanced, could be that each hardwiring has 2 slots assign to them so that you can use that specific hardwiring in any of those 2 slots. For example, be able to use Leadership Implants on Slot 10 but also Slot 9. Or be able to use the Powergrid Implant not only on slot 6 but also slot 7.

This will allow us to use 2 implants we always wanted to combine like powergrid and cpu at the same time, and with the new foreseen command ship changes be able to use at lease 2 Leadership Implants at the same time.

I know that the foreseen command ship changes are still racial specific and the changes do allow more versatility than ever before so that you don't necessarily have to use a different command ship if you want to use a different bonus and or went down a specific race.

Just an idea to think about.
