Well i want to make my own Corp. Is there set amout of skils i need to learn before i even consider making a corp?

1. Should i have a set amout of skill points?

2. Should i have certain skills trained to certain levels?

3. i am getting Plex soon so thats an Additional 500 million isk.

4 Any other investments/ corp funded programs i need to develop to reel people in?

Thanks.

Judging by the average highsec corp you should be fine.

Might want to figure out why you want your own corp before starting it. Unless you're doing your own research, there are plenty of other corps out there to join.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

This is the best advice i can give you running your own corp and it was given to me many years ago when i asked this question

Stick a gun to your head and pull the trigger.

it will be less painful and he was 100% correct

Because running a corp is essentially a second job. The hours you have to put in to manage everything is quite ludicrous even for a small corp.

How do I know this? I was reasonably senior in my alts old corp and I realised it was fast becoming a huge time consumer. The burn-outs I witnessed of the CEO and the directors was very off-putting and an eye opener.

Having said the above, if you really want to be the CEO of a corp and have plenty of spare time, go for it but make sure you have fun!. Blink

Don't give anyone any roles EVER unless they are people you know IRL.

Or make everyone a director and live life on the wild side. Every time you log in it'll be a suspenseful moment when you check the corporation wallet.

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

There are certain Corporation Management Skills within the game, yes. For the most part, they allow an economy of scale as to how many members your corporation can have.

However, those are not the skills you REALLY need, as others have alluded to.

You will need infinite patience in order to achieve a nebulous and ever-changing set of goals. You will need to effectively deal with huge disappointments, especially from people who have joined and do not really share your vision. You will need to be able to forgive, and to punish, and to balance those two so as to create an atmosphere where others want to follow you You will need the ability to fund everything, because, for the most part, your members will be in it for themselves. You may call your corp a PvP corp, but understand that most will really be carebears. You will need people you KNOW and TRUST, emphasis on the first of those, to cover timezones when you cannot physically be online and guiding others.

You asked specifically about programs. Basically, you will need to schedule various corp activities, from mining, to missioning, to PvP roams, and then be able to corral members into doing those instead of doing their own thing. Keep them busy and they MAY want to stick around.

Someone else mentioned roles. If you give roles to other players, you will eventually be robbed of everything you have worked for, then end up here on the forums crying about it. If you don't give roles to anyone, you will be doing it all yourself and will burn out that much faster.

I reckon you fancy yourself a leader, and that may be true, but odds are that you aren't nearly as good in that department as you think you are. Prepare for rude awakenings and debilitating setbacks.

Others have said it, and I will repeat it. By being here and asking these questions, you demonstrate that you aren't ready to do this, unless all you really want is a no-tax haven for yourself and your alts. If you are serious, and your illusions of grandeur are real, then you need to spend time in a handful of other, established, corps to learn what the day-to-day is all about. I don't think you will take this advice, but there it is, and given for free.
