This Saturday, the Corvidae Club will be hosting a social meet-and-greet. Come and hobnob with your fellow capsuleers, dance the night away, or bring your signifigant other for a lovely weekend away!

AT the end of the evening, there will be a bachelorette auction: one date, for one night, with my daughter Lia. Halfd of the proceeds will go to a Kingdom charity. As always, if you're unable to visit in person, the Corvidae Club hololink will be up and running -- The Corvidae Club, sub-node 1138!

Events begin on Saturday at noon, and continue until we're all too tired to stand!

Hope to see you there!

So you're slaving out your daughter for charity? Guess that's one way to get her making ISK for you.

You're too quick to play that card, Astroyka. Whilst I do find the notion quite peculiar coming from a woman who is well-off, the concept isn't too dissimilar to the swap-meets I remember as a child.

Heh, guess I can always count on Lia to to pull me back into space...

I'll see you there, madam Meiyi.

Edit: And I'm curious, what wil happen with the other half of the proceeds?

I probably should have amended it to "whoring out" instead of "slaving out", I suppose they are interchangeable too.

We'll have to inquire to the auction winner weather she was worth the price.

You do understand the concept of a social engagement that is not for the purposes of sex, I assume? Or is it 'all business' in the Republic?

Far from it, in my experience. Minmatar women are notorious for their virtue. A great treasure demands a high price. Big smile

The other half will go to the corporation, with the majority of it for repairs and special purchases for the Club.

Out of curiosity, Evelyn, what is the Kingdom charity that the Club will be donating to? What do they do?

I'll do my best to attend; if unavailable, I'll send one of my associates instead.

Going by the circumstances in your internment camps for returnees from the empire I guess half a loaf of stale bread is what you'd call a high price.

It's good to know that my slaves are much better off, because they get almost double that after a day of hard, manual labour.

"Our" "internment camps"? Clearly you have never set foot on Intaki or any of our home systems. Refugees in Intaki systems are delivered to monasteries and retreats where they are given counseling and meditation lessons, medical care, access to GalNet, a clean bed and clothes, fresh fruit, garden vegetables, seaweed soup with beans, meat and tofu and as much bread as they can possibly handle. We only ask them to contribute a half-days labor. Our only problem is getting the refugees to seek education, independence and gainful employment once they arrive. After a few months more than 30% simply want to retire on monastery grounds and set up careers as "activists" and "scholars" of the Minmatar tradition.

And at least they don't die from internal hemorrhaging because their sleeping quarters and food all have Vitoc in them.

I think I've seen that propaganda holoreel too.

Rather hilarious, albeit not as much to see someone actually bought that load of... well, you know.

Maybe I don't. I thought it was something that required both regular doses and a regular antidote, which is named Vitoc. I don't know if the poison has a name outside of Amarr space. Apparently it's a single injection, or at least that's what GalNet says. Theories about a hemorrhagic virus? I doubt you'll tell me anything useful.

Actually I will. Vitoc is a treatment for a virus called Vitoxin. The Vitoxin method is one of many slave-control methods employed by certain holders in the Amarr Empire. In it, they expose the slave to Vitoxin which immediately begins rewriting the genetic code of the exposed, so that it becomes a permanent part of their lives.

Vitoc is administered at whatever required dosage is needed. It happens, as a side effect, to contribute to feelings of contentment, a general lowering of intelligence while under the effects, and other such things which are useful to the slave holder. In essence, in contains both the carrot, and the stick, of the slave control equation.

More technical details are available on GalNet, and mostly I tell you this because I see a lot of people who think that Vitoc is the problem, and there is a major problem that comes up where erstwhile freedom fighters, occasionally, will come on IGS and crow about how they destroyed a shipment of Vitoc...

...and therefore condemned the people they are trying to save to a horrible, agonizing death.

And is the use of Vitoxin to enslave people written in the Amarr Bible?
