It is actually diminishing the amount of Bits left on the server. When we run out of bits, the bytes will start to break down and the fabric of eve will unravel. We can already see this with Jove space (thus why you can't get there). It is only a matter of time before EVE is a quantum entanglement issue.

One way CCP tried to plug the bits hole was to block all the station doors with binary load-lifters and then welded them in place with a Soundwave Hellfire Arc Welder Mk 2.

The devs aren't dumb and I have a strong sense that they seem to really care about the future of this game (no action needed) at most a little tweaking.

This glitch was predicted 2500 years ago by Confucius - "The hardest thing of all is to find a dec-shielder in a dark room, especially if there is no dec-shielder."

Since I think in analogies please tell me if I understand this.

CCP has made the new Dec system work like virtual herpes. Once you Dec a Corp with the herpes you can not break up with your own Alliance to **** another Alliance or if you are single start a new relationship with an Alliance, because you have the War Herpes.

Given the "working as intended" responses from CCP, it's clear that they want to ensure that hisec is free of PvP.

If you use the wardec system, simply be prepared to fight. If you're not expecting to fight someone, don't start a war.

To be fair, the only PvP I've seen in hi-sec was one of the following:

  • suicide ganks on haulers
  • suicide ganks on miners
  • three man alt corps dec'ing three man alt corps to steal their POS
  • fleets camping jita waiting for the "fair fight" to emerge
  • people who baited others for a kill right taking out the guys mission ship
  • bored high sec corps picking on "carebears" who coincidentally are no match for the dec'ing corp

So in other words, hi-sec is just as free from PvP as it has always been.

Depends on who you ask.

DecShield is awesome, because it's an easy way to get thousands of players to shoot at.

The ones whining about it are the ones one can shoot at .............

Congratulations for not understanding what the abbreviation PvP means.

Fighting implies getting actual fights with other players, not fighting poorly designed game mechanics intended to discourage unconsensual wardecs as much as possible. "hurr u shuld be rdy 2 fite!!!" is a stupid argument because, hey, we might as well ask CCP to give everybody in every wardec aggressor alliance a permanent suspect flag for no good reason, just to add *~cOnSeQuEnCeS~* even though the goal is to ensure that no carebear can possibly be harmed by a big bad ganker ((((
