POS don't shoot pods (unless there is somebody manning it).

Confirming all the Pros use probes to scan down POS'

Confirming REAL Pros would NOT use probes to scan down POS. As it can alert the owners you are around.

Confirming the sarcasm was lost on you.

This is what I used to do back in 2007/2008 when i was in null sec. I would eject at a safe spot (kept em busy if they started looking for me). Then I simply warped to all the moons and set a short range dscan, copied everything about the pos, and flew on. Took mere minutes to do small systems.

This was before probes, and any noob or noob's alt could do it.

I am a bit nervous at this idea. Leaving my ship unattended and uncloaked in a dangerous environment does not seem wise.
If i were a hunter, i would find the ship and wait for the return of the pod and then have my way with it.

Yes I am an alt. I see no reason to make it easy for bullies and greifers

The answer to your question really is based on what you want to get out of your wormhole experience.

If you have no intentions of attacking the inhabitants of the wormhole, by all means drop combat probes and loudly announce your presence. I personally find this method a terrible option but none the less if you don't want pvp then who cares who knows you are there right?

If however you want to be able to stalk potential prey that might later be jumped i would suggest an interdiction nullified / cloakable T3. Once you have found which moon the POS is located warp to an anomaly or possibly the wormhole you came from then back to the moon at 100. This will almost guarantee their will be nothing that will uncloak you as you land. Then have fun stalking.

There is absolutely no reason to use probes to find towers unless you want to.

finding a pos is simple, use dscan to identify the planet where it is (easy to do from the sun), warp to planet, add moons to overview, dscan untill you find the moon where its anchored, all done.

as for warping to it. if you just warp to the moon at 100km you land nicely some distance. there might be bubbles, you can ignore those since if youre in a covert ops they wont do anything. If there are a lot of cans, just check to see if your cloak is still good. if it isnt, just hit mwd and burn outside the bubble and recloak. the pos wont have a chance to lock you. and you should only be decloaked for a few seconds.

basically, get covert ops, stop worrying :)

Thank you very much. all the suggestions have been informative and i appreciate that.
I do have a cloaky Loki and just thought it would be a good idea to gather as much info as i can before i put it at risk in this manner.
It is always a good idea to see what kind of guards a place has before you trespass irregardless of your intentions.

Again thanks for the info.

I can give you this tip. Put in ff password (if you dont know what it is and how to do it, ask around, I'm on my phone and its a pain to type) 12345. Incredible how many dumb ppl are around with that password in their ffs. Try to go thru the force field. If you are not succesful change the password to 1234 and son on and try again. If things gets complicated. Warp away.
Let me know how it goes.

I actually have found pizza is a even more common password than 12345.

Warping to POS 101

Find Planet + Moon

IF No Bubbles or decloak cans on scan warp at 100.

IF Bubbles + Decloak can, check system map, make a safespot between two other celestial objects which is NOT inline with anything else towards the POS.

Or In other words when you sit at the Safespot there should be nothing behind you in straight line from the POS your about to warp too.

Warp to Moon at 100.

Worst case scenario and you land in bubble and get decloaked do NOT activate mwd to get out of the bubble if your in a T3 it will only speed up the lock time of the pos on your ship. 9/10 if your on the ball you will get out of bubble and warp away before the POS gets tackle on you.

If your in a covop just mwd outta there and recloak.
