The last week or so have been incredibly quite for amarr/minmatar faction warfare. Numbers seem to have dropped dramatically and space is pretty empty, more neutrals than FW targets in most systems at the moment. Last night we crusied around in a 28 man fleet and all we found was one AFK rifter, usually we would have been hot dropped by two archons and an 80 SFI blob within 3 minutes of leaving station.

So where is everyone, is caldari/gallente suddenly blooming?

This is an important thing to understand. Break your armada into a series of smaller fleets while still maintaing cohesion. Then you can engage slightly larger (than your particular fleet) while maneuvering another fleet to catch, reinforce or break the enemy's fleet(s).

Driving around in a monster fleet just scatters people. Both sides DO want fights, but they want fights they think they can win (or at least have SOME chance of). The trick is to convince the other guy that he can win so he engages.

Last night, we engaged a fleet we KNEW we would lose against, but dammit, we wanted fights. It was a great fight too. On comms we all said "We're going to die, who's in!?" So, we jumped the other fleet and lost but had a blast.
