Are Empire-dwellers' threats of attacking nullseccers ever followed through?

Sad

Should I have phrased it as a rant on how useless and bad at PvP everyone is?

This isn't a troll.

A few months ago there was some dude who posted about how high sec was going to rise up and show goons whats what and for everyone to meet up for the sacking of VFK on such and such date.

I was mildly surprised a couple weeks later and totally amused to see the guy reported in intel channels as approaching VFK with a small gang (20 or so).

They were slaughtered to the last man one jump from VFK by a roaming ncdot gang. Sad

Test once decided to headshot Chribba's station, figuring if there was one way to get carebears to fight, it would be in defense of chribba.

Guess how many people from hisec showed up?

no never
when inferno was released however, we were surprised to learn that they thought the old wardec system was a thorn in the side to 0.0 residents, which was a great source of amusement

That's very solid argument for discussion. Almost as solid as belief in hiseccers risking their shinies to avenge you.

As I consider my answer from my perch outside 4-4, where all my equipment needs are 0 jumps away, my enemies are 0 jumps away I am forced to answer..

..no..

You wound me.

The reason I asked is I am genuinely wondering why nobody organized things. I mean, it's obvious that hiseccers won't "bring down" Goonswarm in a genuine way (lost sov, POSes, etc). However, cathartic "grab a ship, go shoot a nullseccer" roams/blobs should, I feel, have already happened.

Is it for lack of interest from anyone capable of leading such a thing? Lack of interest from the public? Fear of loss/PvP from the public? Ungenuine rage at nullseccers which gets substituted by "meh"?

Schmata brought up a good point about the "soloing" nature of hisec. Could this be it?

My motives behind asking all this is to find out whether "Hey, Rens! X up in local and get in a frigate to go blow up pirates" fleets have any potential of working, and whether they have more potential if done spontaneously or pre-announced.

Lack of experienced FCs, lack of proper intel, time required to actually get something done.

Just have to look at my own available playtime. Usually it takes at least 2+ hours to form up for a lowsec roam from highsec. And this would be for a scheduled event. I guess I'm currently in game for about 1-2 hours on 2-4 days a week. You do not get far with this.

Anyone with the ability to herd that many cats is already running a nullsec alliance.

There was that one guy who tried to attack a TEST system over TEST attacking Chribba's system (I think). Anchored some SBUs then noticed that you can't online them if you're not in an alliance.

Pretty sure he got asked to join.

So yeah... One guy from HS that I know of has actually made the effort to attack nullsec in recent memory.

I've been to VH1 or whatever the name of the main Goon hub is a couple times to look around.

The problem with trying to kill any of them is you don't have the element of surprise like you do in hisec. The instant you enter system they scurry away like roaches when you turn on the light. Sad

Yes and no.

Empire dwellers dwell in empire for a reason. The ones who REALLY REALLY wanted to fight back became nullbears. Those who didn't, didn't, and stayed put.

also lol you think anyone does anything in "the main goon hub" other than form up for fleets

anyone who heads to VFK to hunt ratters is just going to fail miserably and proceed to whine on the forums like babbies

Did you drop an SBU to start to try to take the station?

Also, if you can't get some kills in VFK, you're ridiculously bad at EVE.

Yeah, i'd just love to go 1 v 5000.

For years now i've been suggesting the game allow more guerrilla warfare in 0.0. Then you'd see people launching attacks into 0.0 frequently. As it is now, we have to patiently wait while the defender gathers as many people as they can before they decide to fight. It may as well be turn based.
