Are Empire-dwellers' threats of attacking nullseccers ever followed through?

Periodically, there are some super brave residents of empire space who decide they've had enough of being comedic relief for bored 0.0 alliances, and they decide to start yelling about how they will smack down whoever has wronged them (usually Goonswarm). There's a lot of noise about it, but then it dies out as if nothing happened.

Why? Did they make good on these threats, but fail horribly? Was there simply not enough interest / not enough people willing to shoot stuff? Did they just have a cup of tea and calm down?

Something like this actually happening and being a "big thing" would be great. Why hasn't it happened yet?

'I'm going to take down Goonswarm' usually means 'I'm gonna whine at CCP to nerf Goonswarm' or 'I'm Prencleeve Grothsmore's 500th alt.'

The few who actually kamikaze null usually die to the bored EC crew.

Well, it seems like main thing killing initiatives in hisec is basically "everybody for himself" way of thinking among residents. Let's see: is there any kind of activity that really requires team work in hisec? Even incursion fleets are made from different corps members. You create your 1man corp to avoid taxes and you are good to go your merry ways.

So if you don't need to organize for normal gameplay how can one expect any kind of union created for making raid on null territory and taking revenge for whatever was done to you. Yeah, it was done to you only, others are not affected. Until they will get ganked but then it won't be your problem. So why would you feel compelled to fight somebody else's war?

Most Highsecers just join up with a Nullsec alliance and then QQ about boredom and Highsec being overpowered.

Once upon a time I planned to unleash my indignant wrath on the 0.0 population---then I joined a 0.0 corp, lived there for a while, saw how bad they had it, and changed my mind. Now I send them a sympathy PLEX every month with my leftover ISK from Highsec PvEing.

I kinda remember some folks talking about forming/building up a corp for that a little while after Monoclegate. Guess it didn't fly. Otherwise people probably just make spy Alts and try to 'take down the man' that way. As most big corps/alliances have this unrealistic fear of spys - must be working. Lol

I just don't understand null sec players.

**Please note: **Anytime I use the phrase PvP in a post, I'm talking about shooting/combat/killing things/blowing things up. Thank you.

Very much so.

Joe in High Sec won't freight through Niarja because he heard big nasty gewns might blow him up but Alliance Joe in Null sec won't recruit new members because they heard one might disband them.

They both fear the unknown variable.

1) Right*
2) Nope.

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

The most that ever happens is they hire someone to war-dec the nullsec corp, which means we have to switch to our neutral freighter/jump freighter alts. It's a minor inconvenience at best. Care-bears actually leaving concordspace and venturing out to null, SBU'ing systems and reffing POSes? Heheh. Hehehehehe. Hahahahahahahaha.

You wound me.

The reason I asked is I am genuinely wondering why nobody organized things. I mean, it's obvious that hiseccers won't "bring down" Goonswarm in a genuine way (lost sov, POSes, etc). However, cathartic "grab a ship, go shoot a nullseccer" roams/blobs should, I feel, have already happened.

Is it for lack of interest from anyone capable of leading such a thing? Lack of interest from the public? Fear of loss/PvP from the public? Ungenuine rage at nullseccers which gets substituted by "meh"?

Schmata brought up a good point about the "soloing" nature of hisec. Could this be it?

My motives behind asking all this is to find out whether "Hey, Rens! X up in local and get in a frigate to go blow up pirates" fleets have any potential of working, and whether they have more potential if done spontaneously or pre-announced.

The real question is how much of high sec is actually made up of individual players rather than null pilot alts.
