Proteus Questions

Greetings.

I am a new player in New Eden but loving my time here. I've been trying a lot of things out and I think I have found a career I want to focus on. I am really enjoying the exploration and pvp, and most of all CovOps. So I think I want to focus on CovOps PvP, fleet and solo, and do exploration on the side.

Now to the question. I am still new so obviously I am still learning. Looking at the Proteus, with my limited knowledge, it looks like an awesome ship I could fit for CovOps exploration and also fit like a bigger better Stealth Bomber. "Looks like", again I am new so I may just be looking at it completely wrong. I am here to ask if that is actually viable? Can it be fit and flown well in those roles? I'm already training up for the Nemesis and Helios, but I was looking for something more to get into beyond that while also maxing out all my skills for those roles. Is the Proteus a viable ship to do this in?

Proteus is a completely different ship than a bomber.. But the proteus has more DPS than any of the other cloaky/probe t3 configurations. Albeit, it does have a short range (blasters obviously.) I think it would be a good exploration ship, fits a mean armor tank. Lot of my alliance mates fly cloaky/probe proteus for scanning wormhole chains, I use cloaky/probe Loki myself.

Edit: I use a T3 cruiser for (almost) everything I do. They are awesome ships with a lot of versatility, but expensive. So yes if you want a ship to PvP, do covert ops and exploration a Proteus (or any T3) is the ship for you.
