With the FW nerf incoming a lot of people are cashing out their LP. This has been largely visible on the Datacore market with sell orders of 60k units on some DC's. Its also clear a lot of thru markets are getting forced down with multiple sell orders with big jumps in the prices between the orders.

Once Retribution hits they can only go up, surely?

But I thought the FW nerfs were already implemented, having been moved up the timetable by CCP in the last couple of weeks??

Datacores cost 50k isk each to redeem in the LP store, plus the LP. At 100k each, they're worth 1,000 isk/LP, which is rather good, far moreso than implants. It may be possible to get better isk/LP values out of tag items (I haven't checked) but then you're dealing with tags, which is a turn-off in and of itself. The only reason datacores retained much value so far is that they're a pain in the butt to redeem, and CCP has talked about implementing a mass-buy option to the LP store.

With the changes to the way the LP store works, and how people gain LPs, I would actually expect to see the price of many datacore to fall.

As they're no longer scaled by which side is winning (although LP gain is.)

Hmm. You say this yet we have Datacore with 3-5 orders at one price them the rest at 50% higher. I suspect it is you trying buy low before the inevitable spike.

Lawl. I would be happy to sell you many 10's of billions of ISK worth of datacores at 100k. Which I am attempting to do slowly already. I can assure you that we are not stockpiling cores.

That'd be because people were cashing out with tier spikes.

with the changes to how LP are earnt and then spent, that'll not be so viable any more.

Yes, some datacores will be over supplied, as there are still imbalances in how the warzones are laid out (Or so I'm reading.) but other than that, the other militias (the 'losing' ones) should find it easier to generate lp of an appropriate level and spend it.

No, I already dumped into the spike when morons bought the market up to 150k+.

Aryth was out of town for those few days, though, so like he said, he'll set you up with as many cores as you want for 100k/ea if you really believe what you're saying.

I've heard of radar sites dropping upwards of 100 data cores. People were in and out in half an hr. No worries though, I'm sure RP agents will get nerfed again.
