Issues with moving multiple probes around

Is this the right place to post this problem?

This is killing me when I attempt to probe. I hold down shift and attempt to move the probes around and suddenly when I am attempting to move them on the horizontal plane, they start moving on the vertical, as my cursor has slipped on to the side of the probe cube or has grabbed the arrow on top.

See, when I move probes individually, the cursor actually stays where I initially clicked, so if I grab a top corner of the probe, it stays on the top corner of the probe.

if I am attempting to move multiples, the movement of the cursor is out of whack, and when I stop, for some reason the UI thinks I am grabbing the probe again when I attempt to move it in another direction even though I have never let go of the cursor.

Am I the only suffering this?

I've had the problem sometimes when moving them all that I accidently grab the top arrow instead of the side ones, and the whole group zips off to almost +infinity, and its a bugger getting them back to where you want them!

Annoying for sure, seems more like a slight bug that user error.

Not sure how to solve the cursor reselecting a different part of the probe during movement, but some things that might help you avoid at least some of the aggravation.

Undo: Whenever you move probes around you can right click BEFORE YOU LET GO OF THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. This will undo any actions that took place between the time you pressed down the left mouse button and the time that you right clicked.

Center Camera: In Solar System view you can center the camera around any object by clicking on that object in space. So if you have your probes set up with 5 probes for example (one in the center and four in each of the different horizontal directions) then you can click on the middle probe to center your camera around it. Then when you're rotating the view around you won't have to keep re-positioning the camera to bring the probes back into view.

You already know about holding shift to move all of the probes together, and you probably also know that holding alt will let you bring all of the probes closer together / farther apart.

Only other thing I can think of is just the way that you go about positioning your probes around a signature. The way I prefer to do it is to set the camera so that it's looking at the signature directly from the side, and then center the probes around it. Then look at the signature from almost directly above (the camera will be stopped before it can actually go directly above) and center the probes around the signature. Cuts down on the amount of times you need to move the probes around and there's a limited amount of camera movement needed. You'll really want to have your camera centered on your probes for this however. (Just recenter the camera whenever your probes are busy analyzing.)

Hopefully some of that helps.

Now if there was only a quick way to centre the camera on a probe - double clicking a probe doesn't centre to that probe X
