You can always ask for price checks on any item in any channel to get an idea of where to take things to sell

You need to get in the habit of putting value on your time when thinking about that kind of thing. Going to Amarr and back is a serious time sink. time that could be spent on more interesting/profitabl(make your pick) things than flying around some space luggage.
Personally, i would not make a jump with stuff when i don't get at least 2 mill out of each jump. Considering that you are selling frigs and destroyers from your training missions and that you are talking about 18 jumps, the question answers itself pretty quick.

tl;dr: Hell no.

Just AFK from whereever you are to Jita. Prices in Jita 4-4 station may not always be the best, but your stuff will sell real quick. Fly AFK to Jita (remember to set your autopilot to only fly through high-sec systems!), then fly back in your pod, or if you want the AFK flight to go faster (500 m/s base speed, instead of about 150) buy a shuttle - any of the four kinds. You can sell your shuttles when you get back to Amarr Prime, at almost no loss.

Granted, flying back and forth AFK 3-8 times, depending on how many ships you want to sell, does take some time, but AFK time is cheap. You can make dinner, or go buy groceries, or go to work or school, while your ship moves.

In a recent change, happened some months ago, the autopilot will now automatically dock if its target is a space station. Before that, the ship would stop once it reached the destination system, and you had to dock manually. This sometimes resulted in ships hanging in space, about 12 km from the entry stargate, for many hours.

Yes, AFKing your Kestrel to Jita so you can sell it for 2000 ISK more sounds like a terrific idea! Even better sounds the thought of AFKing back to your other ships in a Pod so you can AFK the next ship up to Jita! I hear Jita is a good place to AFK around in a pod :)

What kind of returns are we looking at here? 10k ISK for 24 hours worth of AFKing? That's assuming we don't get podded for ***** and giggles and that we don't have to 0.01ISK too much in Jita... and also assuming we get more in Jita than in some other hub in the first place - which i doubt.

Ugh.

Let me repeat that: Hell no.

Just dump those things on the local market and be done with it. Your time is better spent somewhere else.

Treat Eve like a business. You're a space entrepreneur. Every time you do something make a cost/benefit analysis. You should always be mindful of the formulae: ISK/hour, Effort/ISK, Risk vs. Reward, Isk/Time vs. Risk. If you go in the right direction in eve, you will find that you'll be making a lot of ISK very quickly (use some ingenuity and you'll see what I mean) and you'll see those extra ships you have as pretty much worthless because you'll be able to make 10 mil in an hour VERY easily. I suggest you unload them to the best buy order in your current region. Don't break your back over a few extra ISK. Sell them and move on to the next money making scheme! In the beginning you should be focused on grinding standing more than getting ISK. You need to unlock your ability to actually make ISK before you should worry about it too much.

Alternative to selling the ships: Reprocess them if there are no quick-buy option for them and sell or keep the minerals.

Don't sell to buy orders.

Put up your own sell order a little cheaper than the current lowest nearby sell order - say within four jumps.

It's pretty easy to train up a few of your relevant trade skills tbh. Just sell the ships in Amarr. It's a fine trade hub and you'll likely do as well, if not better, than in Jita where there are far more peeps selling merlins, kestrels, etc.

Whatever you do, don't fly around in your pod. You're just asking to be podded. Be smart, buy a shuttle.

This.

What I personally do when I have to relocate a lot of stuff in high-sec from station A to B:

1. Park a industrial in station A.
2. Move stuff (ship, industrial with modules, you name it) to station B.
3. Shuttle back to station A.
4. Rinse and repeat point 2 and 3 till your done.
5. Repack all shuttles and put them in the industrial mentioned in point 1.
6. Fly industrial over as last ship.
7. You have succesfully moved your stuff.

Or you could of course pay some money to for instance Red Frog and let them do the moving bit.

Something doesn't quite add up here. What do you do with all the other ships you moved from A to B in your "rinse and repeat" operations?

I didn't wait. I finished the tutorials and started making ISK on the second week. I basically took the remaining 385m from the Buddy Invite deal and spent every bit of it.

A week later I was bringing in 200m on a daily basis. Now I can fund missions, stockpile ships and open 2nd and 3rd accounts. If I had to do it all over again, I would have taken the initial 450m and spent it all on day one.

It takes less than 24hrs to get to the point of having 30+ orders. The world is...I mean, the worlds are your oysters after that.
