EVE: your future vision.

After recent events the outlook for EVE has been looking pretty grim compared to the ideas put forward in the EVE trailer "EVE Forever: A Future Vision" at this years fanfest. Link

So to help CCP realise a future vision, and maybe just cheer them up a little. What's your future vision of "your" game?

I want to one day play the role of a general of a grand campaign on land, in the air, and in space, leading, and being led, by other players on two gaming platforms towards an ultimate goal of destroying a foe. I want to be sat at a bar in a far flung space station only to have my tranquility shattered by an impending invasion, running to grab weapons, or my ship to repel the enemy. Fighting my way from my quarters corridor by corridor to the hangar bay in order to launch into a heated battle for the planet below. I want to feel like I'm taking part in a grand space saga whose authors are the players themselves.

That's my future vision, what's yours?

My vision is the same, but beeing an Amarrian, i would like some slaves and sex slaves added to this. Maby some sex toys i could purchase from a shop, controlled by a player.

I also enjoy the thought of me in a big cup of icecream with giant strawberries in it.

If this ships a´rockin, then im strangling someone....

I want to read the following on my corp's forums.

'dear corp mates- our monthly meeting is in xxxx station in xxxx.'

I want to be able to go to that station where all my corp mates are sitting in the corp bar, and i want to sit down at a poker table and say- '500mil in chips bitches.' while listening to the corp meeting

Then i want to walk to get up- walk to my ship, undock, land on a planet, and walk into a star wars bars much like this one and have a drink, whilst readin eve news on a hologram at the counter.

I'm with Brick on this one- make thouse carebearing b******s squeal..

My future vision would be to drop an orbital barrage on your star wars cantina from my moros...

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell.

I also plan to retire from War and open a bar somewhere down the line.

I want to own a bar on a station. Shady little thing with the interior decorated by myself with stuff other players and I constructed. I want the barkeeper to be scriptable, so he will give answers according to what I tell him and can relay messages from other players to me and vice versa.

Then, passing another players tailor shop, where he sells his self-made latest style fashion clothes, and a casino, I'd go to the weekly corp briefing into our corp's tactical room. We'd discuss the usual stuff, our targets displayed on a tactical map.

Afterwards off to space. After an hour or so of space, I hear there has been a workers strike on one of my planets which I probably treated a bit too harshly lately and I'll have to deal with that crisis. Salary raise? Or send in some of our corp mercs to deal with the lazy bunch? But most of the Mercs are still fighting in Ossos... Facepalm as I remember that I promised some support orbital strike, so I head there instead and go with the salary raise, promising myself to invest more into corporate security on that planet.

From the HUD display showing me the juicy targets, I inform the mercs to fall back and commence orbital strike. Just then another fleet bangs in to protect their planetary installations. Later I oversee the last-minute extraction of the mercs and have a beer with their commander in a shady strip club owned by another player.

****** day, but on our way to the club we pass the still burning headquarters of the NEX corporation, that once a long time ago tried to get a monocoly on clothing market and establishments. That makes us smile and we settle for a game of poker.

I want Eve to go back to more of the conquest, and comradery, teamwork, prosperity, success, wealth, intelligence, and creativity it seemed to have so much more of a few years ago.

Eve is being flooded by farmers, macro's or not, which proves that things are a little to stagnent. I agree that there must be a degree of reliability and predictability in the game, but there must also be more risk, uncertainity, and excitement over the unknown.

I admire what CCP is trying to do with their multi-platform gaming. I just hope they don't become another "more is better" company like WoW.

TL;DR my future vision is about freedom and endless possibilities, player designed environments using tools provided by CCP, always something new to be seen, nothing that can't be conquered by other players. /TL;DR

This is about something i would like to see happen, not about something i think would happen.

My future vision about EVE is about players designing the EVE Universe by using tools provided by CCP.
Thus creating a massive universe with endless possibilities.
There would always be something new to explore or visit since players would be the creating the universe.

From designing something crazy like underwater cities to mobile stations as an industrial corporation, to hacking spaceships/POS, beating someone up in a dark ally or infiltrate a corporation to steal corporation owned assets.

Walking in stations is the first step towards an even bigger feeling EVE universe, i hope someday, EVE Online will have walking on planets as well (not talking about dust, that's another game).

My vision of *** (walking on planets) is something like Freelancer, but more visually stunning and complex.

I want to be able to enter a planet's atmosphere, land near or in a city and walk around enjoying the view of a blade runner style planet.
Maybe i want to start a taxi business and transport or even smuggle actual players into hostile territory with a spaceship with risk being caught.

Maybe an industrial alliance feels like creating an underwater city on an oceanic planet, and can engage in a project by using tools provided by CCP.
You would probably have to invest trillions in such a project however.
When finished players can visit the city (if friendly) or pirates can take the solar system where the oceanic planet resides in, and invade the planet in order to take control.
Players could actually rent a building or corporations could start a business, you would have to pay rent to whoever currently controls the planet.

Walking in Stations has so much potential - I hope the moaning few with substand PCs that can't hack it haven't killed it.

I would like to see more skilling up, why can't we take training to 6 - if not 11 :)

Better ship interface.

Something that draws in fresh meat; all games lose players, the trick is to get newer ones joining at a great rate.

Better returns in losec mining. At best I make the same as hi-sec (without the risk).

Public Quests are good; more of these please. Something that causal players with half an hour can get into (perferable with new players, maybe help them).

Watch out this winter for the newest addition to the NEX

"Future Vision"
goggles that allow the user to see just how bad their decisions are, before they make them!

originally designed for the top brass at CCP, these miraculous devices allow you to see your judgmental future. Now due to a manufacturing defect these special edition goggles are being made available to the general public for a small fee of 25,000 aur (to help recover the original R&D costs)

For the brief time these items worked correctly we were able to look ahead and determine that this is a great deal and will save the company from financial collapse, as well as providing the tireless workers at CCP with a near endless supply of pickled herring.

order yours TODAY!

Well, all u REALLY need right now are the upcoming racial CQs and PLEASE make a redesign of the raven as you guys from ccp did with the Scorpion (when Incursion came out) and the Maller (Since Incarna)

The new designs are much better than the previous ones and the scorpion really needs it

And plz improve the paintjob on the navy Ships (the amarr khanid black is ok), but all the other ones look like they went swimming in dirt

And plz add faction battlecruisers, that would be awesome

If you did that, you can focus on further assets like other new ship designs and more to walk in that just qour personal room and hangar and don't overdo it- EVE online is already a damn rich universe and plz don't ruin it

I had a dream about the "Future Vision" of EVE. It was in the form of a Dev Blog announcing that the servers were being permanently shut down. After the multiple sackings that happened, I got that dejavu feeling.

My future vision is about a game where you log in and it deals with SPACESHIPS, turrets, missiles, long skill training schedules and every xpac brings MORE SPACESHIPS and fixes slowly but surely all of the half*baked content that for the past 3 years eve has been spouting randomly.

Every 6 months there would be a new set of ships, and when there's too many ships there will be new roles created out of it for them. Future Xpacs could deal with SPACESHIPS, SPACESHIPS, SPACESHIPS and yeah, SPACESHIPS too!

New mechanics implemented like small fighter guerrilla warfare in asteroid belts, swathes of space dedicated to SPACESHIP combat that comprise sectors of space that go up or down in sec status, creating islands of semi safe temp hi sec zones for people to settle and begin trading in SPACESHIPS and SPACESHIPS parts, also some people might want to go out of their SPACESHIP and walk, but that should be secondary as everyone knows, EVE is about SPACESHIPS.

Oh yeah, how about fighting with SPACESHIPS on planet's atmospheres? How about new story arcs for missions that revolve around SPACESHIPS???

Yes that would be such a glorious future, like devs focusing on MORE SHIPS and TURRET types and drones and minerals , and something you do in a SHIP, because I think this game is about SPACESHIPS no? Correct me if I'm wrong.

To do anything else besides SPACESHIPS I think might make the game odd and people MIGHT complain and others (gods forbid) might even leave!. But we all know SPACESHIPS is a sure bet. Who in their right mind would think OTHERWISE?

Ahh I'm such a gloom, I know people at the top KNOW this is a game about SPACESHIPS.

(strolls happily into la la land)
