And release Zynga games like farmville to the public for free, because they apparently have nothing better to do.

I endorse this ser... actually I don't care. I took a "political sabbatical" from Facebook and I don't think I'll ever go back.

CCP has no sense of humour.

Can you blame them?

With games like dishonored, XCOM and all this other utter trash being released at a rapid pace.
Decent Games like Skyrim are releasing hollow short DLC at a snails pace.
Right now is not a great time to be a gamer.

There is nothing to do game wise. Except you know logging into eve and trying to find an alliance willing to accept you.

Edit:

People need to stop releasing games that I could easily emulate and play in my head while laying in bed. Most games are so simple and easy to memorize, the patterns of AI are too obvious and easy to manipulate. As an aspie its very hard to enjoy any game that dosent have some X-fact in it like other people playing it. Most games these days I can play through them once or twice and then be able to play the whole thing in my head which defeats the purpose of having the game installed.

I think it cheapens the concept of hacktivism when they focus on petty things like this.

Yeah, the vanilla game sucked. I modded it extensively and it's somewhat enjoyable when there is new content released.

Where are all the Metro 2032s and Crysis(s) of today? Where are all the good games that are deep and meaningful?

It is hacktivism until they do it to a group of people you like or sympathize with, then it is harassment.

I like it too when a group like this busts a pedophile or sticks it to a hate group but it doesn't really make it right to commit crimes.

No, it's always hactivism. I actually strongly dislike Facebook and Zynga. If i was ruled by my own likes and dislikes alone i'd be cheering them on and defending it.

I'd even argue going all Chris Hanson on pedos or going after hate groups is a waste of time. Everyday people with no computer skills do that on a regular basis. They should be thinking of things on a global scale.

A lot of people do like and enjoy Facebook whether you or I do or not. Attacking them only hurts those who like it and nothing more.

Hackivism is a pithy word for harassment and a crime plain and simple.

Do you feel the same about other forms of activism?

Peaceful protest no, destroying property and stealing personal information yes.

Activism is fine and so is using the internet in such activities but it becomes not fine when you attack people. You just posted a thread about the government setting up survailance on private property without a warrant. So counter question. Is it okay when these people censor your work and snoop on your life but not the government?

I don't trust the police with that kind of power and I certainly don't trust random strangers with it. That is why there are laws against citizens doing this kind of thing and there need to be more laws against the police doing it.

I also don't agree when they target people. It's more of that pettiness i was talking about.

Their efforts could be better spent liberating information the public should know, or exposing corporate crime.

That is a very dangerous line. If an anonymous member said they looked illegally through 5000 peoples personal E-Mail whom they suspected to be bad and look 20 were bad and the FBI did the same thing would you praise both of them.

It all comes down to that old chestnut: If you're not guilty you have nothing to hide.

There is of course such a thing as unjust laws like the old race laws and anti homosexual laws and anti women laws that it is heroic to break sure. But when it comes to espionage to find certain criminals by civilian groups with no oversight and no way to know what they do with the information are you comfortable with that invasion of privacy?

Umm you can level to lvl 30 in Skyrim without being hit once, that's how dumb the AI is because the monsters attack the closest target and that's it. Set your difficulty to max and install a 32x difficulty mod on top of that. Once something farts on you, you die. You can even die if you run into a blacksmith sign. So I was playing a breton, summoning all these atronachs and fighting monsters for 5 minutes each until I realized "OMG THERE IS NO AI OMG". Uninstall.

I think the internet forced many to accept most people are shallow and insipid

There's more money in making games for them.
