Eve Wallet Aware // Cannot Retrieve API Information

I have recently downloaded the ''EVE Wallet Aware'' program to make my life a little bit easier with exporting of corporation wallet information into an excel spreadsheet.

I cannot seem to get it to retrieve my api information to start using the program. I use my main character, I have tried to use the legacy *full* api key and user id, I have also created one of the new custom api keys and tried that. It simply will not work.

I'm not 100 percent sure if I am putting in the correct api server information, I have also tried to use a proxy api server with still no luck. All I get are errors and no data retrieved at all. I have never had any issue retrieving character data until this program.

Does anyone use this program and know what to do?

You need to search the old forums for the relevant post. Evidently the version you downloaded has some database issues.

And yes I have the same problem(s) but can't be bothered to work out what needs to be fixed.

No I am not the developer.

Old forum link.

This may help you understand where the items need to be found. Red lines are personal data and blue are corporation.

I don't know for certain but I think at a minimum for the personal api you need to include

Account and Market : all
Private Information : AccountStatus, CharacterInfo and CharacterSheet

You will also need Private Information : AssetList if you intend on using the Asset function.

For the corporation api

Account and Market : WalletTransactions, WalletJournal, MarketOrders, AccountBalance
Private Information : CorporationSheet

Also whilst I am being helpful, when using Vista/Windows 7 change the database location to

c:\users\username\Application Data\EVEWalletAware\DATA\

to prevent UAC issues on start-up.

If I remember correctly the creator of EWA has stopped supporting it, so it will stop working. I could be wrong, but I think its correct

I've also heard that support for EWA is being discontinued. That's sad news cause I really like this program.

That said, I was able to resolve the problem for myself by following a suggestion in this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=122382#post122382

Basically:
1- Exit out of EWA
2- Open the database in Access
3- Open the "banav_tEVEAPIKeys" table
4- In mine database I found record 1 still had all the old API information, and records 2+ had my attempts at entering the new CAK API setup. I simply removed record 1 and all but one of the other records and set that remaining record as default
5- Exit out of access
6- Load EWA again

That all worked fine for me. Doesn't resolve the issue that the program will eventually get broken because of lack of support, but at least the above steps should let you update to the most recent version and continue to use it for as long as possible.
