Indeed they are, but you have to be… you know… not AFK to use them, so I don't see them catch on in this context. P

and there was me thinking a t1 logi cruiser with some webs would have been a must for the dedicated freighter pilot.

They are, but that still implies freighter pilots organizing themselves when they move 20b+ of stuff. Much better to just wait for CCP to make it so any aggressive moves at all make you shootable by anyone, that way they don't have to adapt to this either, exactly like miners.

ey, i'm a miner! :(

to be honest, for the price of a t1 cruiser they may as well just let red frog handle it. hell, imagine how many jumps red frog can do for the price of a freighter these days.

Sometimes I see kills with only destroyers on the freighter kills.

Did they get bumped or just jump in structure and finished on other side?

Tell me more about it? How many fly around in structure and do not repair immidiately after an attack?

Today I see, a couple more killed, it is still very easy. Profit is good?

This is slightly different than it was before 2003 till 2011. Is it a good development?

Very good. Could be a bit faster and a bit more common so that it's not just something you see from a specialist group but something that is a more general threat, but still.

you mean something like Hulkageddon?

at some point 0.0 carebears have to ask them, why they have to search content in high sec in such excessive way. They might find 2 answers: massive blue list + it is too easy and too tempting. So they rather go on a kiling spree in high sec, kill some freighters, which cant shoot back than do PVP in 0.0. First travel 30 jumps to the next target system through blue space is not as tempting obviously.

Freighters with a proper escort aren't getting ganked, and you shouldn't be flying around with a crapton worth of isk in a freighter with no escort.

And I don't see CCP nerfing this because people refuse to accept that EVE, in some situations, expects you to actually play with other people.


In fact, CCP needs to create a pop up for everytime someone puts an amount of items in any ship worth a lot of ISK that warns the person that their freight can make them a potential target to would be pirates. If it's items that CCP isn't able to estimate, the warning should just pop up as a default.

Actually just make it pup up everytime you undock with any hauling ship; with the option to disable it. It's not CCP's responcibility to fix stupid behavior.



I agree with most of this except for the underlined. There is no way to get a 'proper escort' for haulers in High Sec. You can get a scout, but there are still bottle neck systems (njara, I believe is one), that there is really no way to avoid for many people, in particular now, since one group or another will be on the gates 24/7.

I still say it is not a problem with the Gank as much as it is a problem with the Scan mechanic.

There is a special Hell for people like that, Right next to child molestors, and people that talk in the theater. ~Firefly

Nope. The cause is that there's nothing to do in nullsec outside of PVP and building supercaps which isn't just as lucrative at the very least less effort than it is in hisec. So nullsec is mostly empty, which means that PVPers have nothing to roam around and kill.

Hence they go for hisec.

Everyone who fires upon someone are then shootable by everyone else in their corp. Given that they have only so much time in which to kill a freighter before concord appears, killing one or two of theirs could very well mean the difference between going pop, and getting out in structure.

But before you despair at having to expend any effort yourself, don't worry, CCP are making sure that come retribution, everyone can shoot at homever does anything even remotely illegal, so you won't have to think about doing that either, you can continue flying solo just as you always have.

What's excessive about it? Anyway, the question already has plenty of answers, the most obvious one being “that's where the targets are”, which in turn is because there's no reason for them to be anywhere else.
