Malediction :

Amarr Frigate Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to rocket damage and 5% bonus to armor resistances per level

Interceptor Skill Bonus: 15% reduction in MicroWarpdrive signature radius penalty and 5% bonus to Warp Scrambler and Warp Disruptor range per level

Role bonus: 80% reduction in Propulsion Jamming systems activation cost

Is this okay for PvE mission level 1? Big smile

That was actually what I was thinking would be a better ship in the first place, but I thought you wanted an interceptor.

From what I hear, a decently fit Retribution can do L2's pretty easily, let alone L1's.

Cool! I'm currently training toward several certificates, to help with energy weapons. Really looking forward to trying the ship out in about 3 days. Big smile

Certificates are one thing, but i'd reocmmend simply getting every skill that effects your fitting to 4 then starting to train the ones with the best %bonuses and lowest training times to 5. That's where i started off.

I'm doing the ones that are "recommended" according to the ship's info. Esp. energy weapons like pulse laser specialization which the ship has bonuses for. Big smile

Some of them are decent, but i have very few certificates, but i can fly most ships optimally/perfectly. Always use common sense in your training queue :)

Fly a tech 1 fitted coercer for lvl 1 missions.......easy street.

Tech 2 fitted for lvl 2's

Once you get the skills for the assault frigate Retribution you will cream through lvl 1-2's

and once you get 'decent' skills i.e. all relevant skills to lvl 4-5 then lvl 3's are easy as well....just take some time on some of the missions thats all.

I've done lvl 3's in a punisher before so you can do it you just need good skills and know what you are doing and how to fly.

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.

I can fly the Retribution in about 2 days and will train a few more skills before doing my first missions with. :)

So just because you haven't really said which skills you're training, allow me to point out the important ones, in case you've missed any.

Electronics:
Electronics V

Engineering:
Engineering V
Energy Management
Energy Systems Operation
Energy Grid Upgrades

Gunnery:
Weapon Upgrades V
Advanced Weapon Upgrades
Controlled Bursts
Gunnery
Motion Prediction
Rapid Firing
Sharpshooter
Small Pulse Laser Specialization
Small Energy Turret V
Surgical Strike
Trajectory Analysis

Mechanics:
Hull Upgrades
Repair Systems
EM/Kinetic/Explosive/Thermal Armor Compensation

Navigation:
Acceleration Control
Afterburner
Evasive Maneuvering
Fuel Conservation
High Speed Maneuvering
Navigation

Spaceship Command:
Spaceship Command
Amarr Frigate
Assault ships

I only made this list because you said you are following recommended certificates, and I wasn't sure how far beyond those you were going. All of those skills should be trained to 3 or 4 (5 if possible) before you even fly the thing, if you ask me.
The only exceptions to that are the skills which I specifically indicated V for.

Those skills are what I would consider the prerequisites to fly a Retribution well in PvE. PvP adds a lot more skills, but I don't believe that is the focus here.

You probably already know all this, seeing as you've been around about as long as I have been. I just thought it would be important to re-iterate the suggested skills in case the certificates happen to have missed out on a few. Also, this post could be useful for any newbies looking to get into a Retribution of their own.

I do hope this is taken as an attempt to be helpful, and not in an insulting manner. Personally, when I came start flying a new ship, I look for all the help, information, and pointers I can get.

No, I don't take offense whatsoever! :) I greatly appreciate the info! I've trained a lot of those skills, some to 5, such as Amarr Frigate, and I'm still working on the others. When I'm ready, it should kick butt! hehehe

When it comes to run missions, Assault Frigates are a much better choice than interceptors. I regulary do level 3 missions like that, and it's fun. If you keep a good transversal velocity until you get under the guns of the cruisers/BCs, you almost don't use your tank.

Yeah, I should have researched more before I bought that Interceptor. lol I kept it, as it may come in handy later. Big smile

Fly what you like the looks of and matches your flying style and you'll be happy in EVE.

To many people worry about flying what is 'best' and get butt hurt when it's not the best after all.

Have fun, fly dangerous and drunk!
