What the hell is wrong with my hair?

Not sure if this happens to anybody else but it's a bit annoying.

When I made this character's portrait, his hair behaved nicely and it didn't clip with anything. His portrait looked perfectly fine.

However, after playing for some hours I realized the portrait looked exactly the same EXCEPT for the fact that, as you can (probably) see now, one of the dreadlocks was clipping through his face making a strange shadow.

Puzzled by this, I went into re-customization and recreated the same portrait, without a change.

Surely enough, it was just fine for a while until the strange hair reappeared.

I tried yet again, changing his shirt (why not) and the problem came back.

What is going on here? I though portraits, once generated, were saved in picture form. However, my hair is constantly going back to that position. Any ideas?

It's a problem with the image generation server. Every time you take a new pic the information about the character is sent to the sever where the real image is generated with max settings and a few other optimizations. This image is then the public one we see. The one you see right after you take the pic is a local copy which is eventually replaced by the public one generated by the server.

I believe after you take your photo, the scene is redone at the server level adding better effects. When it re-rendered it had a issue with the hair. Solution, tilt the head a little so the hair might properly lay on the face.

As far as i can tell, they get re-created every once in a while.
I know, because i tried a female char with closed eyes *cough* ... and they kept closed ... until the next day.
