What caldari ships would you recommend for this epic arc? Limited to Tech 1 ships atm (and possibly pirate/faction frigates), and all my skills are in Rails with ok drone skills

I know the Arc isn't super hard but I'm hoping to do the whole thing as quick as possible with out having to change ships for different missions along the Arc.

You can do nearly the entire arc in a cruiser class ship. There are only 2 missions that pose a problem (burning down the hive and the final mission).

Here's the mission details

Chasing Shadows is harder than burning down the hive, by far...but all three are a challenge to new players.

Up to burning down the hive, a frigate or destroyer should do fine. On burning down the hive, you'll be better served by either something faster than a destroyer (frig w/ long range guns), or something with more tank (cruiser)

On Chasing Shadows and Our Man Dagan, you'll probably want to upgrade to a cruiser. They both feature a battlecruiser "boss" with very heavy tank, compred to the rest of the NPCs in the arc. However, both of those ships also have trouble hitting small things up close.

Up to "every drone inside", everything has been very easy inside a destroyer so far.

You can do most of the steps with a fast frigate where "run away" is the strategy (or rather, run in, loot the container and warp away). I'm doing it for the second time, and the ones where you must kill a bunch of ships can easily be done with a destroyer (current fit is a catalyst with 6x T2 railguns and spike/javelin ammo - most rats die in one salvo).

The hardest ones for a newer player is Chasing Shadows and Our Man Dagan. There is no killmail for popping NPCs, but this guy bragged about killing Dagan with a Procurer. If these 2 missions are hard for you, it is quite common to ask in local in Arnon for assistance. I've helped a lot of folks the first time around. The target in Chasing Shadows uses ECM and neutralizers, so most folks end up out of cap, unable to target and go boom (if you can fit FOF missiles and drones, they can get busy while you sit there and be jammed). Dagan has around 80% resists to everything for shields and armor, so he takes a lot of DPS - more than most noobies can deliver with a lower skilled player. The first time around, I used an Osprey with multiple ECMs (that fit had 3 white noise ECM and 1 ASB for mid) to handle those 2 NPCs.

If you're caldari and use rails, then I'd personally opt for the cruiser Moa
You get bonuses for rails.

It'll be overkill for all the missions except the last one (which it'll do relatively easy) but will set you up to run pretty much any lvl 2 mission and maybe lvl 3's (although, they'll be slow as DPS isn't all that high)

Nearly up to the 2 harder missions, I already have a fitted Moa but unfortunately the arc has now put me 35 jumps from it so I'll have to buy another if I want to use one.

A Caracal with HMLs (sub 200 dps) can walk through the entire arc.

It's only tricky the first time you run the arc, after that you have much higher skills and the rats melt.

Fitting an afterburner saves loads of time, ditto a tractor.

Finished the arc, did everything in a Cormorant. The only mission I had any trouble with was the one where you kill Dagan. He drained my cap and I couldn't fire my guns. Went back to station and grabbed a small capacitor battery and got him on my second try.

Shame there aren't more epic arc's in the game, was somewhat more enjoyable then plain missions

I got through the entire thing with a Catalyst. The Caldari destroyer is fairly close, it may be able to do it too.

Edit: And then I read the post above mine....

Caracal could do it. Probably get away with the Hawk or Harpy, too... I prefer something with Drones, tho (Prophecy is good)

I saw those but the standings needed to do them a pretty high, same with the lvl 4 epic arcs. I'll be +10 standings with Caldari Navy navy before I'm even half way to the the standings I need with Caldari State to do them.
