Nobody wants this to happen. No one wants to see anyone lose their jobs. No one wants families to worry.

In this time of change, you can take some comfort that CCP probably looks good on a resume in the industry as an innovator in the field.

Good luck to those who will move on to new ventures, we wish you well.

I can only agree. Each and every CCP employee I ever dealt with was doing a great job, showed humor and wit and altogether enriched the game.

I hope all works out well for all those who will have to leave CCP!

plus 1.

Although none of them will ever see this forum post, I hope CCP relays our gratitude for their work while they were with CCP.

Our best wishes.

Fly safe in the stars.

Why did they hire Americans in the first place? Shocked

Also, I thought since Incarna, numbers had gone stable instead of growing? Doesn't that mean they should be able to maintain the status quo?

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

So all I got was that the CEO is still in charge and rather than cut his share or the top bosses salary's, he sacks the little people. Pretty much what every business does when things go south, screw the little guy not the poeple at the top who are causing the problem. :P

I have never seen CCP make a correct choice in EVE, pretty sure this wasn't a good choice either.

People who lost there jobs, I feel ya.

the problem is they tried to do too much at once with 0 gain in profit
its like building a new store and then getting 0 sales.

its unfortunate that this happened, but if u look at it, those people should never have been hired in the first place ( at least by CCP for wod)

the good news is game development is a booming industry, the lack of jobs thing won't be as hard on them as other industries.

Yet again upper management cuts the meat at the heart of the operations and fail to trim the fat Evil

Luckily what the Herp said above is true. The gaming industry is not hurting for jobs. That being said I feel for all those that lost a job doing something that they probably believed in and thoroughly enjoyed working on.

Fly well all in your new job search.

Totally. Where's the accountability? Suits f#k up, they don't care, they take the losses out of the workerbee's pockets and get in their fata$$ BMWs and go back to their fata$$ houses to fondle their investment portfolios and stock options meanwhile the workers get their lives screwed up for who knows how long.

And now, everybody that criticised CCP is supposed to feel bad about it. Next time, you better run with the ball and curb your rioting, else more people will get laid off. It's all your fault!

Whilst it is sad people have lost their jobs, this is CCP's error and not ours and nobody here should feel guilty for what has gone on.

They were warned.

Every single fix required for FIS and every single feature we wanted to see implimented in Incarna (this first incarnation of it hur hur), like a button to switch between the hanger etc, has been extensively documented on these forums...and in the right sub forum.

There was absolutely no excuse on their part to **** it up quite so badly. Which they did. There has been no excuse not to improve EVE over the past years with simple fixes and balances, as well as the good content (such as WH etc) which we have received.

You can only go so far ignoring everyone before people actually DO leave.

We play this game more than the DEV's these days and it is obvious that a number of very clued up players actually know better than CCP in terms of how the mechanics of this game function and how to improve it. Not saying we are perfect, but our advice and feedback should be listened to.

Afterall, if we didn't give a **** about EVE we wouldn't give any feedback to try and improve it.

Do not feel guilty that a company screwed up and people had to be let go. Would it have been better to not make a fuss, the employee's keep their jobs and come winter play to win comes without the joy of ship spinning or hybrid balancing etc etc etc etc? I think not.
