The end of the casual eve player

Started eve three days after release.
Pvp'd for yrs, fought Moo, played a part in many nullsec actions,ending with the rise and fall of Atlas.

Then had a kid, took a small break then came back to the neat game ever.

And wow.

It was never bout the cash, had freighters(1ganked), dreads, and a carrier, lots of isk, ect.

The culture has changed, can't a old bittervet just do time in eve running missions, pos manufacturing,occasional mining in the few hours I can get away from real life a day?

Apparently not, harrasment in game, on these god awful forums is crazy, who needs all the bullshyte.

So my main account ended yesterday and this one is done too soon.

No you can't have my stuff, and it was alot.

Are you saying you lost a lot of isk due to the loss of some expensive ships in high sec, and are quitting because of it?

You must be doing something wrong - I have a missioning/manufacturing/hauling/trade/mining character in highsec for over 5 years.

During these 5 years, the only incident that could be called an attempt at harrassment was when someone tried to gank my hulk in a catalyst. My hulk was tanked, so he blew up, I didn't.

If you're fed up with the game, fine - noone will miss you, so spare us the sad excuses...

These forums aside, I must disagree with you. I've been around quite a while myself. I mostly spend my time in high sec and I've had no 'harassment' issues. I'm not even sure what you mean by that. Yes, the community has gone downhill in some ways (I still blame the fear of having a loss show on killboards for this), but is still awesome in others. Obviously, if you are not having fun, it makes no sense to keep playing. I'd simply suggest that perhaps you are in the wrong circles, or at a minimum have not chosen ideal locations for the activities you enjoy.

In any event, sad to see a vet going :(

Check out the subscriptions/player count numbers for the release of Incursion expansion that contained high sec improvements namely Incursions and WIS. Notice the huge drop.

Now check out the subscriptions/player count numbers for the release of Inferno expansion that contained war and pvp improvements. Notice the huge increase.

What the OP calls harassment, CCP calls one of the top reasons people sign up to EVE and its strongest selling point: being able to affect players and the world around you

But they aren't trying to do that, at all.

They're just limiting forum complaining to doing it about hisec and hisec carebears. If you try and defend the way you choose to play the game in hisec, or say anything negative about 0.0, not only do you get insults from the abusive peanut gallery for having unpopular views, you can look forward to being moderated by an ISD.

If this thread was named "I'm quitting because hisec people are stupid", it would be the most popular thread on the general forums, and remain unmoderated.

PS: I'm quitting because someone blew my ship is hardly a thread designed to encourage any form of discussion, even if that discussion is just people bitching at each other.

Most forums would just delete a thead like this, at least the ISD just moved to another subforum.
