Cleaning up a pilots corp history.

I know it is important to see a pilots history of associates, but there should be a way to clean up a pilot's corp history.

By this I mean being able to scrub the scrubs corps who made promises of activity, pvp, and trillions of ISK in ore... I'm pretty sure most of us have been there, a corp looked good, they said all the right things and you signed on... only to realize that you are virtually the only pilot on TS3 for a week straight with an occasional drop in to check skills. You wanted out so you left after 2-6 weeks. BOOM, you now have 2 corps on your history, the liars and the NPC corp (AGAIN!).

And then there is the "I'm gonna make something of myself" itch we all get from time to time where we spend 3 days thinking of the most creative ,intimidating or self-deprecating name we can think of for a corp. Then we spend 1-2 Billion ISK and a day building a POS for alts to do their work in... Then you realize that you alone can't afford to keep up POS fuel, much less make a profit on whatever your 2 or 3 alts can produce.

Then there is the FW element. In and Out. In and Out. Everytime its adding 2 corps, the Faction Corp and again the NPC corp.

I know my own corp history looks ugly, but it really is not when it comes to being a loyal, productive pilot that is part of a corp/alliance.

If I could cut out the crap, meaning the NPC, corps I founded myself, and corps that didn't live up to their promises I would have a very strong short list of corps who would speak of me well. I would have 3-4 corps that I spent a lot of time with and learned a lot. 2 strong nullsec experiences, both of which fell apart because of alliance actions so it wasn't really me bailing, a strong WH experience where I just decided WH life wasn't for me after 4-5 months, and my initial experiences with EvE in a highsec indy corp. And outside of those there would be FW.

only clearing my own corps off the list would cut the list more than just in half...

Perhaps a 3 month minimum membership in a corp for it to be permanent, or maybe corps remain on the history for a minimum of 3-6 months after leaving then you have the option to remove.. I don't know but I know I'm not the only one dealing with the issue. I just want to find the right fit for me in the game and I'm almost there but when looking for a strong fit I'm usually turned away because of the corp history.

It would go against the whole "there are consequences to your actions" vibe that CCP is trying to build in the Retribution. That said, I do agree with your argument about FW corps clogging up the history. I think FW should be something you can enlist to as an individual without changing your corp or making it something which isn't recorded on your history.

still open to abuse, which makes it a terrible idea. remember the last thing that was open to abuse? it was abused, and then ccp had to start stripping assets etc.

It's informative to see where a pod pilot's been and who they associate with.

Decisions in EvE have consequences. Corp history, killboards, skill training... gotta sleep in the bed you make. Big smile

Weell… sure. Give us a “trim to 250 items max for PLEX” option.

In my (ugly) corp history, a lot of the corps are actually the same corp. Some of them are the main corps "probation" corp, to see if you fit.

Oh I'd hate to think there was someone with literally 250+ on their record, but I'm sure you're right.

I wouldn't mind having 2 categories: every single corp you were in within the last year, then only long-term(2-3+ months) corps for before that. I agree that it can be hard to find a good fit, and the more you search, the fewer options there are due to being labeled a "corp hopper".

There is a way to clean it up: stop corp jumping like frogger on roids.

There is no Bob.

If you want a clean corp history, keep it clean. My corp history hasn't got any of the blemishes you mention.

Isn't that exactly what he said.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he's not refering to you, in an NPC corp.

I'm sure people would be delighted to hide their alts corp infiltration history but that is clearly broken.

Sometimes it can't be helped. Fecis occurs.

Oh sure, give me a way to scrub spy alts and insert them into enemy alliances.

If you check my Corp history, you'll see I actually haven't really been a member of anything resembling a real Corp on this toon. Some are mine, my alts, a few are me trying other players Corps, many are NPC and Militia Corps. None, are real Corps.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter, but it would be nice to clear out the trash. It's something you can do with a resume in real life, and that is essentially what your Corp history is. Part of one anyway. Why not be able to only show people what you want them to see? Sure, they can find out the rest, they can api request, they can do a little research, but first impressions, right...
