Looong time ago back at the uni there was a student BBS. I was "Alf" there, from the old tv series. One of the regulars there kept calling me "Alfetta", not sure why. Also my character is female, so it seemed appropriate. Nowadays Alf and Alfetta are still among the first things that come to mind when naming a character.

I just hit random for the surname. For the first name, I went to http://www.behindthename.com/random/ and created a random first name.

A portmanteau from two of my usernames I used way back when I started. Back then we didn't even have those fancy-schmancy random names or surnames.

I've since invented an in-character history for the name...

In this characters case, random name generator, in my 2 alts case, one is a character from the Discworld novels, couldn't have his full name as it was already taken, so I went with the name that's used the most in the books. The other has a name that sounds rude when you say it out loud but looks innocent enough when written down, was also most appropriate for a trade alt.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

My origins are cheap and simple.

A quick run through valid names showed all busy (I'm merely 4 years old).

So I went for a merge of two persons.

So from Foundation, Lors Avakim and Gaal Dornick.

Hey presto, Lors Dornick ;)
