Any sites around similar to jumpplanner that can tell me how much stuff I can bridge with a black ops with my skills? I've not been able to find any guide to portal fuel usage and what recons/bombers/T3 use per ship.

Hey, Gneez, that's how you play this game nowadays, huh? Bear

The range of your portal is the same range as your own jump range, so a ordinary jumpplanner works for that purpose.
anyhow, the fuel usage depends on the ship and the fitting.
Plated(armor tanked) ships usually take more fuel.

there's a math piece for it, though i don't know it off the bat.
but basically: more mass -> more fuel used.

you can send away LOTS of bombers while you can send away 3-5 recons. bridging another BLOPS will take a whole fuelbay.
recons are designed to be hunters (the cyno ship) and bombers are what's meant to be bridged in.

my tip: have your bridging ship sit at a POS with a storage array fillled with fuel if you are bridging a lot of stuff.

don't bridge more than 1-2 recons if you wan't to bridge a flight og bombers as well.

No, I still mostly fly tech 1 ships and cheap stuff, but want to try blops bridging to see if it's any fun (which it's definitely no going to be when I lose this panther) Lol

Very helpful. thanks. Problem is I only have jump portal generation 2 so I wish I had some kind of calculator to see how much mass I can send through, probably stick to 1 recon and a few bombers for the moment.

Dotlan - plug in your ship, skills, etc, then also tell it if you are bringing any friends. Go to navigation, and then go to either jump planner (if you are planning a route to get from point A to point B and want to know where you are going to need cyno's), or go to range and you can see what systems you can hit from your designated location.

Example. You decide to drop on all the moronic retards in providence who aren't smart enough to run away when someone comes into local (cause obviously NRDS applies to roaming PvPers who are looking for a fight...). We'll start out in G-5 (entrance from lowsec, so your flashy red buddies don't need to worry about the police in highsec). Go to dotlan>navigation>range>enter your blackops ship/skills/starting system (G-5), hit go. It pops up a list of all the systems that you can hit from there, in a rather unusable form. But up near the top, it lists which regions you can hit (in this case, derelik, provi, curse, devoid, and domain). However, we are hunting in provi, so we click on provi. This then takes us to DOTLAN's signature maps, but now with a pretty black highlight around all the systems that we can hit, and a green one around the system we are currently sitting in (G-5).

But you ask, how much can you actually bridge through?
Lets say that you found a target in 9UY. Once you get used to this, you can wing this part and just make sure you have a source of extra fuel, but for the initial planning, we'll go over this. Go back to the navigation part (preferably in a different tab, but that is up to you), go to jump planner, enter G-5, add, 9UY, add, set your ship (i'll just use redeemer here, but they are all the same bridge/jump wise), and set your skills. Note a new line that popped up from the bottom - bridge ships. Go there, type in hound (or other ship of choice), and click add. Set how many are bridging through. Then hit go. This will tell you how much fuel is used to jump/bridge, and how much is used just for bridging.

Things to note here - most important skills are jump drive calibration (to slightly up your pathetic range), jump fuel conservation (reduces fuel use of both the jump and the bridge). Don't worry about jump portal operation - it doesn't significantly affect the fuel use for you, and the only reason to get it above 1 is if you fly a titan.

I'm already a competent carrier pilot and have those navigation skills all to 4, I was more worried about jump portal generation which I have only at level 2, but you're telling me it doesn't really matter much on a black ops? Pretty good news since it's a rank 14 skill.

Yeah, the portal skill only helps with a Titan.
