Dagan is a common stumbling block. Kind of there to enforce the multiplayer side of things (IE, get help)
Ask in your local channel for some help if you cant get through his tank on your own

Enjoying the videos, makes you step back as an older player and think "Yeah, that is actually pretty awesome". You start to take it for granted

As a tip, when that guy was shooting your drone and not you you could have just approached him to zero distance. Eliminate any tracking problems of your own by not orbitting. For extra damage, buy or make yourself some Antimatter S which is the lowest range but highest damaging of the Hybrid ammo (ignoring the advanced ammo) If you are feeling rich then some "Caldari Navy Antimatter S" for added damage on the harder to kill targets may come in useful. Expensive to use all the time though on the lower level missions

You were lucky that the frigates with him didnt target your drone as well, as they would have shredded it
To avoid your drone being targetted if you wait for all of the enemy to target you (yellow box) you can safely launch your drone so it doesnt get blasted.
They are cheap at the mo, but when you get to the larger ones and especially the Tech II ones they start to add up if you lose them regularly

Hi guys just starting my play through Eve and going to record my journey if you would like you can watch it here.

I never recorded the character creation because i felt that has been over done and i had already finished the tutorial which i felt
would have been just frustrating to watch lol. So i've started part way through the epic arc quest.

Well I've hit a mild road block with a mission to kill dagan I'm going to use this chance to skill up a bit and delve into mining and manufacturing but first need to figure this damn market out in my latest part.

Just for info

In the market, range is how far the buyer is willing to travel to pick it up
So Station, solar system, constellation, region

Also to the right of that is "min volume" this is how many you need to sell to them

IE
If you are buying minerals you dont want to be travelling all over the region to pick up a few units at a time
So you can setup an order that says you will travel anywhere in the region, but set a minimum of say 10,000,000 units per transaction

Mining fits are usually:
Mining Lasers

Survey scanner which tells you what is left in the asteroid
Tank / capacitor modules

Lows with cargo and laser upgrades / tank

Roids dont move, so no point fitting an AB to chase them
Warp in, Bookmark the asteroid(s), warp out and warp to BM at 10km / 0km

Nice job with the videos, OP. Subscribed. Since you're playing more with the market, it might be a good idea for you to Google "margin trading scam", and learn how to avoid it.

Also, am I the only one who thinks this guy sounds a bit like Richard Kind?

Don't forget that the ores also have a value! If you have bad skills, bad blueprint or chose a bad item, you will probably lose money by manufacturing instead of just selling the ores.

And I love your videos! You bring back all the good memories from when I was under a month old and learned something new and exciting every day. Smile

Dagan can be a right sod to kill, doing him solo as a noob is pretty hard. Your best bet is to put a shout out in local for some help, there's normally other players struggling to kill him to. Team up with them, they help you spank him, then you return the favour.

I had a guy turn up in an Amarr Battleship after a shout for help in local the first time I did him, man that was awesome to see in action, huge great shiny ship spewing lasers all over the place.

Quick tip is that you can rerun the epic arc every 3 months, its a good way to build up standings to the faction you choose for the dagan mission, it's quite the boost.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Comments on video #8:

* Cheater Blink I would have come in an Assault Frigate to help, so you at least you would get a chance to shoot, laf!

* Alpha Clone - you get a free medical clone that can hold up to 900,000 skill points which makes it ideal to die horribly, repeatedly, early in your career.

When you get more skill points, you'll have to pay to upgrade your medical clone, or suffer skill point loss when podded (= pod destroyed).

I'm up to Sigma (20m ISK) Cry

So i think I've gotten myself to the point now that i should really be looking for a corp but most suggestions have been the eve university and rvb. As i do believe they would be excellent corps i was hoping more to get into a goal oriented corp, like taking over the universe lol.

I don't check on this for a few days and there are now 10! I've seen parts 1-4.

And let me thank, my good man. Not only are these videos awesome sauce, they allow me to tell the better half, "See, it could be worse. I just play EVE. Look what this guy is doing." Big smile

Going to give part 5 a listen to at work.

Again, great job!

EvE, it's all about tear managment.

There are lots of corps. Some advertise, some don't.

On your PI (Planetary Interaction) you have storage and a launch pad
The Launch pad has it's own storage, so you can save the powerand CPU of the Storage by not having it

Route it all through the Launch Pad

Got a paper to write? Washing the dishes? AFK mining is your friend. Free ISK while you work!

I recommend Amarr for sales. Jita is the biggest trade hub in the game but it can be hard to find places to mine around there, and the competition might bump you off...

Comment on #9: You need to do more studying on PI!

Hope you watched this already: CCP Games Planetary Interaction Tutorial

* With skills, you can upgrade the command center's CPU and power (click it).
* The closer stuff is placed, the shorter the links, the more you can put on a planet.
* Move the extractor heads closer to hot spots. Make sure the heads don't overlap.
* The extraction rate (time) determines the area covered by the extraction head. Higher rate (short cycle) = less efficient. Longer rates are more efficient, but then you don't make as much.
* Think of a link as a road. Once linked, you then have to create a route ("assign trucks") to actually move stuff. All routes should either start or end on some sort of storage, but not both ends.

Example:
Route 1: ECU to storage
Route 2: Storage to factory.
Route 3: Factory to storage.

This ensures that materials don't overflow and are lost, as well as the processor being idle because of a synchronization issue: you cannot guarantee the order of operations performed, only that they all happen.

* You extract P0. You should do at least one processing step to create P1 before exporting from the planet.

Basic setup (using all requires upgrading the command center):
* Command center (CC) [required]
* Extractor Control Unit (ECU)
* Basic Industry Factory (BIF)
* Spaceport
* Silo

You can get away without a silo by using the spaceport or command center for storage, but a silo is a lot larger. Larger means you can handle larger incoming volumes (say from shorter extraction cycles), and / or ignore the planet longer.

Spaceports are links to customs offices in orbit around planets. They can import and export. There is a very short time delay between actions.

The command center can do small launches of material into orbit, but the cost is typically more than a spaceport. The launched containers appear in your journal, and you can warp to them and pick them up. There is a very long time delay between launches.

Finding PI:
* Click on the planet display in the captain's quarters (CQ).
* Access the PI tab through the Science & Industry window.
* Your journal has a planetary tab where command center launches show.

You need a better overview: Louis's Epic Overview Settings 1.1
