This is Chris we're talking about. The guy has built a career on vaporware and promising exactly what people want to hear. He knows what the space-economic-combat sim demographics wants in an ideal game, and he is promising it (mostly). He will not deliver even 1/10th of this promise.

Freelancer was his previous work. Sure, freelancer was cool but it was a shadow of the vision Chris had for it. Most blame microsoft for this, but it wasn't microsoft's fault that freelancer was released with missing features. By the time Digital Anvil was acquired by microsoft, Freelancer was already 18 months beyond their 3 YEAR DEVELOPMENT CYCLE. Chris and pals were never going to be done with Freelancer, so Microsoft pushed it out the door early.

Anyone who sends this man money for star citizen is a sucker.

Some people are opended for new ideas and games while other not, its like war betwen Windows vs Other OS, or Aple vs Samsung etc, monopoly is bad for customers in my opinion, because developers force you to play or use stuf like they want etc, with full symphaty to CCP and EvE i wish we got more space mmos in future, just because competition is good for every Developers this just bring new features and challenge.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.

Disney will buy up Chris Roberts as well as Star Citizen. Then a series on disney channel will play off that game, as you play the game. New seasons of the show will be timed with expansion releases.

Heads up.

I fully agree. Some competition is just healthy and it can be beneficial as you gain new interest and insperation.
And for all of us spaceship fans this is indeed good times for all of us.

Unless something has changed in the last year or so, the main developer for Infinity confirmed the game was no longer in development.. He said all resources (being him) were being focused on finishing the game engine which he hoped to sell to a game developer.

I stopped checking their forum after that which was roughly 1-2 years ago now.

Actually they're thinking of releasing something along the lines of ICP2 via Kickstarter soon, and if they succeed in getting enough money to develop Infinity they will start developing Infinity. If not they will proceed with ICP2 and try to make money off that, then move on to Infinity. Either way they are aiming for Infinity.

I'm going to try and stay optimistic about this. :)

There is something better and it's already existing. When you look for a single player space game, then look for the X -Series from Egosoft. They have a channel at Youtube.

Said it before in the other thread about this; the trailers are fuckin' terrible.

Not even a film school reject would screw up a game trailer that much.

Bad, bad, bad.

Thanks for all the replies I appriciate it. Though I can´t be sure, many evidents confirm that this game is being developed.

The team hires a new game designer:

A new audio desinger expands the team:

https://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/meet-martin-galway/

The site expands with new functions and new econmical stretchgoals is being fullfilled:

Also so far the team has collected 2.5 million dollars, that should keep them on the track with a medium sized team for atleast a year or two. But I guess we all just have to wait and see as pointed out previously.

I thought it was pretty cool, but of course I agree with you good sir, how trailers is being interpreted is higly subjective from person to person.
