Where's my Gneiss?

Ok, I'm new to trading.

I had 1995 units of Gneiss on the market in Amarr last night. The sell order is gone, and I assumed it had timed out and the items dropped back into my Item Hanger, but they are not there. Furthermore, there's no record of a sale (and no isk) in my wallet, either under Journal or Transactions.

Where'd it go? Does it take the market a while to clear such transactions?

Sometimes it takes a downtime until Items reappear.

If the order was for corp and it was cancelled/ran out, then the items go to Market Deliveries for the corp (in Inventory).

No, it does not take a while for market to transactions to clear.

There were issues with the new inventory system a while ago- where whole hangers (let alone items) disappeared, but this has been (allegedly) sorted.

Any colour you like.

That's not correct. If an order expires you have to wait until DT unitl it re-appears in your inventory.

Ahh, thank you. I was thinking this might be the case.

While the Gneiss didn't worry me greatly, I had another 120M sell order go missing similarly! Shocked
