Different launcher exception?

Sigh: I'm getting the dreaded launcher exception when I try to start the game. It's saying there is an unexpected error (is there an "expected one?) and giving me an looooong error that basically started with

Traceback (most recent call last):

and then goes on for a while. I tried to paste some of it in, but the damn forums keep saying I can't put HTML in the txt even though there is NO html in the part of the error I'm trying to post. So yea, the launcher AND the forums are broke!

Deleting preferences does not work.

I seem to have started getting a launcher exception too,

Running Mac OSX 10.5.8 - MacBook Pro - Intel Code 2 Duo

Run EveOnline client, launcher does not appear, pops up with "Eve Online Launcher Exception" and states that an "unexpected error occured".

After running through some of the error message, a couple lines caught my eye:

"TypeError: string indices must be integers, not str"
.
.
.
"NoInternetError class 'lib.exceptions.NoInternetError'"

Yea, that's what I got. I ended up just downloading and reinstalling the client and that worked, so CCP will probably consider that "fixed".

Same exact issue here, except I just reactivated this morning and am extremely irritated right now. I redownloaded the client for a fresh install and the disk image got corrupted so I have to download it AGAIN. Not the way I imagined spending 15$.

I have a friend running a 2011 Macbook Air with OS X 10.7.5, and he seems to be receiving a similar if not the exact same issue. At first, the was only after several uses that the launcher developed the error; it has subsequently stopped working entirely and an uninstall/reinstall no longer fixes the issue. This thread is somewhat old, but it's the most recent forum for this discussion I could find. Does anyone have any guidance on this issue?

If anyone is interested, my friend found a solution by right-clicking the program, viewing its resources and choosing the EVE client there as opposed to going through the launcher listed in the Applications folder. The launcher works approximately 30% of the time and is primarily useful for updating the client as the in-game option does not work.
