yeah it started out with m0o wreaking havoc and all that good stuff.

I also remember the Curse Alliance and C4 alliance. who where hated more than the goons are now.

Sounds a lot like m0o used game mechanics to their advantage, much like James 315 does these days.
Would that be a correct observation?

It probably is, but then you have to evaluate the ends to which that advantage is put. In James' case, he is just a garden variety thug with megalomania who likes to exert power over people to feel special.

Yay let's champion sitting at a gate and killing everything that moves for no reason and call it "piracy". Roll

Afterwards we can pretend not to know why nullsec is so empty.

And I am not trolling.

To their credit, it does appear they moved to nullsec and became more than just campers.

So, what happened? Such a legacy but look at the way things are now? If the goal was to cut their teeth in a lowsec choke point and then move to end game, they got that and then moved on to legend status. Why was this example so forgotten?

I will bet....... jump bridges will get the blame.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but you realise I was kinda joking about the plex, right? Even if he could remember his details I'm fairly sure he's tied up with other stuff atm.

I will ask about the AMA though.

You know, I remember my initiation....go from on end of New Eden to the other through nullsec without dying. Good times.

m0o had the first battleship. A Dominix.

But Zombies were the original RATM Corp to be stomped down by CCP.

I just figured that there must have been a massive inflation in Eve...if he hadn't played for many years, he will most likely think that 500M are an insane amount of money and will thus be tempted to come back.
Please don't tell him that it's just the cost of 2 fully t2 fit Battleships nowadays. Blink

And since this is eve, I was always expecting that you would keep at least half of it for yourself.
What you do with the other half is up to you.
Give it to him if he returns.
Keep it for yourself if he doesn't.
Give it back to me if you figure that I need more money.
Distribute it amongst the victims of James315 if you feel charitable.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Lord Zap was the man. Used to strike fear into an entire system just seeing him in Local... even if it was high sec.

I was around as a player back in 2003 when they were at their height, and I've never seen a corp so coherent, so focused and a corp that works so well together in combat since.

Some of the biggest names in the history of the game were part of m0o.

Cool

I was there too under a different incarnation, I think it generous to give them such praise, unless I am mistaken they were beta players who were able to use their beta knowledge to gain power fast and harass all the new players. They just ganged up on anyone anywhere, entered a system and announced in local that you are all about to die. Hardly what I call legendary considering their inside experience with the game.

Aww, you're a gem. I like you Lol

I think you're right about the inflation though. My suspicion is that if you had 50M back then you were considered extremely wealthy.

If he comes back I'll make sure he gets half Blink

Muchas Gracias

I'm not sure about them having any inside info. Perhaps one to ask if he does an AMA. But I think they were just good at experimenting and working together.

It would be interesting to see what those guys would make of the current mechanics. I wonder if there are any undiscovered, hugely overpowered tactics/setups left that ccp hasn't plugged yet? If there are, I suspect m0o would find them.

They weren't. They got "stomped down" months after Mara-Passari happened - ISTR that it was camping Yulai that got CCPs attention for Zombies.

I remember fighting Zombies (Trinitron) when I was in RKK along with Naginata/Black Hand Guerillas (Miso, J0sephine etc) months before all that. Cruise kessies/BBs, infinite tracking on turrets, damps stacked to infinity and beyond - very different tactics to now P

if i remember rightly m0o stopped playing as a corp when CA was defeated and b0b formed as an alliance and m0o as a corp entitey did not want to play the alliance game . they where gate ganking pirates in all there glory , old school style ,
cant say i was sad to see them disapear from the rader in the game but i beleave some of its original members went on to play with b0b corps instead of quiting , there was also the fiasco of lord zapp being sold to another player and him trying to reform m0o , that didnt last long , times had changed and null sec alliance had all discovered the wonder of voice comms and where to well organised for m0o s old play style ,

i dont lament m0o no longer being around they wrecked the game for many who where just trying to enjoy eve in relative peace and quiet .

Wasn't m0o the group that use to tank concord and camp trade hubs? My memory is fuzzy.

In that time battleships were considered like today's titan or more.
I remember when Lord Zap got went in a rampage in his shiny Dominix, but eventually lost it after some organization got too many cruisers to fight it.

Bah, he's gone all shy on me about the AMA.

Post up some encouragement! I reckon he can be convinced and I'm sure he's still watching this thread!
