Mayby its the "Eve" in me but wouldn't it just be hilareous if the plucked the plane out of the tree then just flew off, with a free RC plane.

You mean steal openly with an easily identifiable vehicle which usage is likely recorded to show who was the pilot at the time? Instead of being a public cool/brave hero he would be considered a huge douche. It would certainly be hilareously stupid if nothing else.
