Everybody is doing freighter ganks in High Sec now ...

... which is usually a sign like when everybody did Incursions or FW cycling and so on. If everybody is doing it and it was not quite intended that way, it will get nerfed soon.

In the last months Bat Country and some other high sec suicide gankers made a fortune ganking freighters in Niarja and Uedama. Now you see more and more other groups doing it also in other 0.5 systems after they found out, how easy it is.

Good stuff. Thanks for letting us know that "unapproved" highsec PvP will soon be nerfed.

just a hint. I play this game long enough to know, when the nerf is coming. Usually I read a lot hatred and nerd rage by the iwin easy peeps, which will amuse me even more, when my prediction comes true.

No nerf are needed at all. People just need to stop being stupid with thier stuff.

indeed, screw wasting 1.5bn on a charon when i can let red frog take all the risk for almost no cost to myself.

Everyone is bumping miners, does that mean James will soon be looking for a new way to save EVE from certian death?

Exactly this.

Freighters with a proper escort aren't getting ganked, and you shouldn't be flying around with a crapton worth of isk in a freighter with no escort.

And I don't see CCP nerfing this because people refuse to accept that EVE, in some situations, expects you to actually play with other people.


In fact, CCP needs to create a pop up for everytime someone puts an amount of items in any ship worth a lot of ISK that warns the person that their freight can make them a potential target to would be pirates. If it's items that CCP isn't able to estimate, the warning should just pop up as a default.

Actually just make it pup up everytime you undock with any hauling ship; with the option to disable it. It's not CCP's responcibility to fix stupid behavior.

The right ship for the right job works too. Super expensive stuff should not be crammed into a freighter. Bulk low value stuff work right in a freighter. Low ends minerals, some PI mats, not sure on number but maybe ammo. The fact that you can fit a packaged miing barge in a GSC does not mean it's a agood idea to do so for example.

High sec was made for stupid peeps or call them Noobs or Rookies or whatever. If we all were so experienced, we would not need a high sec.

Escorts or avoid running a freighter through Niarja or Uedama or other dangerous 0.5 systems, then you do not need High Sec.

Were we discussing stupid? Yes, we were.

Stupid pilots gets punished. Goons got stupid. CCP punished stupid.

They were doing a tiericide at the same time to make every hull usefull for something. We don't really know if they were supposed to be ganked profitably in the first place. Ganking for profit to me seem to be really tightly linked to high sea piracy. You only really attack ship you think are carrying valuable just like gankers do to freighter right now. The difference is we can't board enemy ship but we also have the benefit of the cargo no being unreachable at the bottom of the sea when the ship is destroyed.

Most profit gank seems to come from either pimp ship or hauling vessels anyway. Since there isn't really much of the cargo to steal off a barge/exxhumer, it might be intended to not be profitable to attack as a pirate. If it was intended to be profitable then they indeed goofed on the EHP potential of those ships.
