It was specifically my goal not to mention any plot points in my review, since the challenge was to write a review, not a walkthrough or detailed report. Thus I focused on things that make a movie an experience - editing, music, variety of ships, remarks, etc.

It seems weird that you state your opinion on how the movie should have been reviewed, but then say that 2nd and 3rd place was picked based on the movie being good. (I thought it's not a movie contest, but a review one)

Don't get my post wrong, I am not butthurt nor do I think my review shines over others. If anything I'm just questioning your reasoning and shady rules/expectations.

Either way, I diaggress.

Nevertheless, I feel bad for having 200mil now, since this post is nothing blatant bitching. (it's your contest after all, you can do whatever the **** you want to be honest) (no, I won't have decency to send them back, since I've been playing for like 3 months now and have no ISK anyway :) )

Not only I read it at least twice (like all the others), but actually at some point I was considering it to be the best one all-around. As I said, there were no obvious winners here, m8. If you think that the determinative factor was the movies behind the reviews, then I'm in no right to dissuade you.

My wording and reasoning might be bad, but the fact is that I simply had no obvious choice to make. Also, as a man of my word, I could not just declare the contest failed on the grounds that there were so few participants with neither impressing me as I had expected.

Just don't make me convinced that no good deed ever goes unpunished, please.

woh i didn't expect to win a prize at all, i just wanted to see some more reviews.

Due to the nature of this thread, i will pour all 1b isk back into making a new pvp video as a thank you to Fon and all who participated here.
if anyone would like to see some specific ships please let me know, i just hope i don't disappoint anyone.
But again i want to thank everyone, its been a good read and now i want to give back to you all.

Great initiative, that I unfortunatly saw too late.

This post make me also remember the poor development of a proper tool, by CCP to the active eve community trough their website, that will help having a real visibility of all this hard work players give to the others.

As I'm interested specificaly in the PVP movies part of "my eve" and check it often for new vids, I can deplore to miss some, lost in the mess, or without a proper tag...Forget about finding the old ones, so interesting.

I made a long list of PVP vids, that I share with the person I form to PVP or simply noobs I kill and help later when they ask. I can't imagine those people can find this content by themselve.

In conclusion, a complete listing tool under the banner "player content: PVP videos" where we could rate, rank and advertise on this fabulous and lost database would have a bigger impact than any game related improvement on eve online...PVP ingame will not get better without inspiration and heroes to follow and copy as a start.

We can only say bravo to some players who changed and boosted a lot the "in-game fighter spirit" while having no proper communication tools, visible, solid and accurate. I think at the kil2 and kovorix initiative as the msot sucessfull one.
I can't imagine what ywould have been the impact with better conditions.

So Fon, thank you for your post, the idea is brilliant of necessity and highlight a huge lack of com about player made content.
I hope those words will be heard after all those years they are yelled and lead to drastic changes and improvement on this side.

Well, I see things are getting worse over time: on top of what I said above, there is an evident fact that "my EVE" previously known as "Videos" now shares the forum section with some utter crap like "funny" jokes, songs "and more".

Also, as a frequent visitor at My EVE I can safely state that CCP dudes seem to be interested mostly in "cinematic" crap of no PvP skill rather than actual in-game content we depict - the last thing correlates perfectly fine with the fact how game mechanics and balance have been neglected for so long and how slowly things progress nowadays.

That is kinda what My EVE is for, to let members of the community show others what they have done, it being a song, podcast or a joke doesn't matter as it is about community. It is a shame that you are so butthurt now that it has dawned on you what My EVE is for.

damn. i wish i had seen this thread a few weeks ago.

i might when i find some time write a few reviews of some of my favourites anyway. The video audience has changed so much over the last few years that i'm sure there are dozens of old gems most people have never seen.
