I been thinking this for a while, thinking could it really be the reason..

What do you all think?

Could the influence map shape make alliances take certain sections of space?

If one were to re-design the influence map to make the universe look different, would it change sov changing trends?

Continuity of territory as a motivation? Interesting thought. I think someone once said, "it's all lines on a map".

And yep, I agree. See that light blue bit between the yellow bit and the dark blue bit. See the meat shield between the yellow bit and the light blue bit.

I'll wager $10 that someone is going to want to "re-design the influence map to make the universe look different" soon (tm) Twisted

It should definitely show more ponies. Just shows how uncultured and uncouth we are. Hopefully in the years to come, the map will show true evolution.

Ugh, NickyYo is onto us. We've been distributing the right stations to our allies in the hopes of making the area around Deklein look like a yellow, err, you'll see soon.

We can only hope in the years to come, the map will show true revolution.

Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality of the current 0.0 political climate. The little peoples are being trampled on by tyrants like the Mittani (I mention his name in a purely political format not in a personal one) - it is frightening to see that the Goonswarms are gaining more territory as they invade south towards Vale. This is not war. There is no battle being fought between two sides. We have seen the CFC and HBC align together to crush the small independants which seek a peaceful existence alongside the super powers. The Goonswarm once stood as the proletarians that fought against the elitist and bourgeois. Much like the latter stages of the Soviet Union - Goons have become counter-revolutionaries to their own cause; developing a vile culture which rejects anybody not part of their small group. I can personally

We need nothing short of another revolution - the proletarians must unite once again against our oppressors. I, Prencleeve Grothsmore, plan to ignite that revolution.

Note: I am not personally attacking Goons, but rather the (not in the usual sense) elitist culture which has emerged from the Northern power blocs. My goal is to destroy this rising trend.

NC was doing fine on its own as a smallish independent alliance, however the Goons decided to rip them of tribute. Rolling Thunder (a public alliance which is also fairly small and independent) is now also subject to dis-ownership of its SOV in the upcoming invasion of vale.

I have had the "pleasure" of talking to a certain alliance's diplomat, whose argument was almost literally "we want this system because we want a bigger blot on the influence map". So yes, it happens.

This is the NC. that is ranked 15th in terms of members, right? Yes, a very smallish independant alliance. Just as small and insignificant as -A-, the #1 PvP alliance if you give two ***** about killboard stats, ranked 5th in terms of members? Also, the CFC and the HBC (not blue to each other) didn't team up to take on the NC., that was just the CFC. And if alliances actually undocked for a change, they would find out how staggeringly incompetant we are and retake all their old sov.
