Fleet bonus form orca not working?

I'm not seeing a fleet bonus form the laser optimizer 1 ganglink and the mining laser field enhancement 1 ganglink

Skills mining Director 4
Leadership 5
wing command 2
All skills for the 2 links in use

I'm not seeing even though I'm squad leader and set as fleet booster , I'm not seeing the boost on anyone in fleet when they check times for cycles and for distance?

Green check mark in fleet , yes

and yes they are on, Yes fleet is set up right yes we are all in same belt,
no one one is in warp or in station.

whole squad is in the same belt ....

Am I required to have Mining foreman Mindlink Implant?

Am I missing something?

Hm, you shouldn't need that.

You are FLEET booster? That's wrong. Set yourself as squad booster and have the alts in the squad under it.

Bonuses are passed down, if you were using fleet, you'd need fleet command, and have a wing booster with wing command etc etc.

If they had a squad booster, they were getting bonuses from the squad booster. NOT your orca character who was fleet booster. Remember, having a few ranks in Leadership will give a bonus and hence green tick. The game doesn't care that your ORCA's bonuses go nowhere, if they get some Targeting speed bonus from squad booster. Tick means you are getting some bonus. Hover over it, it won't say "You are recieving bonuses from: Fleet Booster"

Passing down bonuses need an unbroken chain from Fleet Booster -> Wing Booster -> Squad Booster

Or you can just be squad booster. SO make yourself squad booster, unless you have what 12 alts?

Alavaria is correct.

You can set yourself to Fleet with Wing but you won't provide bonus. You will need Fleet Command 1 for that, allowing you a Wing.

I wish they, wouldn't allow that, but I suppose blobs do need to be formed, and no one should be blamed when 100 people don't have wing command or fleet command trained.

Yep, squad leader or any leader doesn't matter much when it comes to who is the booster. Leader just sets who the booster is.

Yah that'd be correct, but to make it less confusing you could just say the proper position instead of (ab)using the "booster" word.

Fleet Command -> Wing Command -> Squad Command. The fleet booster role is for the fleet-sized blobs that want someone giving bonuses that is not the same guy as the fleet commander, that is all. Noone should ever care about the "booster" role if they don't do blobs anyway. Like me/others said, Alavaria is correct, the booster just happens to be a very specific role that you never really need to use, and I know plenty of people who keeps thinking they need their whatever-skilled characters in a booster role. They don't even realise that the commander role is doing the job.

TL;DR just park the proper character in the correct command-role. If you're less than 10, Orca goes in Squad Command. 11+, put Orca in Wing Command and have someone with Leadership 5 take Squad Command. Unless you really want someone else to be in that chain to fleet-/wing-/squad-warp people around, the 'booster' role is unecessary.

In the simplest of cases (up to 11 people), remember that if the leadership character is the one who creates the fleet, everything will already be set up correctly from the start.

However there are cases when the bonuses just refuse to work for whatever reason. If you are sure you are set up properly, disband the fleet, relog the leadership character, and form the fleet again.

Would it be too difficult to provide a hovertip telling individuals where the bonuses are coming from and what impact they're having?

Its time to stand up against the bad empire based CEO telling falsehoods about what new characters can accomplish and pushing them towards an in game experience of drudgery and loneliness keeping them in the shadow of ignorance for at nest their own profit at worse apathy towards all the experiences that Eve has to offer.

I'd laugh but I'm looking at the prices of a mackinaw and retriever and going hmm...

Orcas are pretty expensive though.
