God i remember we used to use Googledocs.

Googledocs and either spending every 2 hours making bookmark copies of entire sets, or else having every alt account be a human bookmark down a chain when time really was critical.

Oh the days gone bye.....

Is your PVP action slow? Or maybe gas mining is getting a little stale. Well your in luck, it seems there may be another war coming on a complety unexpected battlefield that we can all sit back and watch.

The use of signature tracking programs comes to the for front of Wormhole Space and their seems to be two standouts Siggy and the newcomer Excam. I have used both, and now it is time to find out who is the Microsoft and who is the Apple Computer in terms of the ingenuity of their perspective programmers.

Both these programs have hugely enriched the WH community and made living in WH's much more accessible. Again it is the customers improving the game for the betterment of all and both of these programs are well worth your time.

I would like to see these programs post their attributes and capabilities, their price lists and perhaps real screenshots of their programs.

How will they improve their programs and what can we expect in the futrue?

Let the commercial war begin!

Actually its the other way around, if you allow players to use out of game browser to access your map you are missing a ton of useful info such as locations, ship masses, ship ids and so on.

forcing people to use the IGB for maps just means they won't have it open at all and you dont get any info cos the IGB blows giant chunks and is an incredibly annoying waste of space.
the correct way to do it is have the map minimized in game and do all your input and viewing out of game.

They don't want to open the map in IGB they wont know where they are going and if they ruin a gank because they are too capricious to use IGB then they don't belong in w-sapce. There are great many benefits into not allowing anyone to use anything but IGB, if you don't know what these benefits are than you are a bit behind the tech curve.

Yet that is how it works. As long as I (or someone else) give the free right to use some tool - I want something in return. In this particular case - information. Chains we open to and have already probed by someone else.

Though in this particular case anyone else has the same benefit if opens to that chain.

I have 5 screens to work with, why would I want to be limited to the IGB only?

Except IE does not help you with security of you corp / alliance and does not provide any benefit. IGB on the other hand is very very useful with all the headers. I am not going to spell out the purpose if you cannot make a connection on your own.

EXCAM has IGB and out of game functionality. IGB sucks basically because it can only update JavaScript stuff once every second or something.
