Loki + tengu for c3 WH sites?

So i am thinking about doing c3 sites with a friendly tengu and need a ship to do so in. I always figured a loki would be best but i want to ask the forums before finalizing my training.

So is there a better partner for a tengu than a loki? (looking at t3 or below minmatar ships)? I am sorta close (farther than loki but closer than any other t3) to flying a legion.

Want some pvp help? Like to fly small and fast frigates? Then join the in game channel Tenori_Tigers!

Another rr Tengu? They'll laugh at anything a C3 throws at them*.

*It'll sound a lot like missile launches, but if you listen really carefully you'll hear giggles along the way.

I am a ways off from even thinking about a tengu, and i need to train the skills for t3 production so i would rather not spend that much time training for a pve ship. That's why i wanted a amarr or minmatar so i could more easily train for it.

Any will do honestly. We were in a C3 for a little while (just moved again) and one of my friends flies a Legion. He also trained a tengu. But we actually found the tengu/legion pair was better.

hmm, any particular fit? or just a standard armor one? Also do you RR with the tengu or just pew pew?

No RR in a C3. Heck, I'm dual boxing in a C4 with local reps and it works great (RR when we have 3+ on).

What we found is while the Tengu has great projection and stuff, heavy missiles are not optimal for the smaller stuff. While the Legion didn't have the projection, it literally instapopped sleeper frigs and melted cruisers. Since both burn in fast the range wasn't an issue. So he'd focus on frigs up, and the Tengu would focus BS down.

I would imagine it would be the same with a Tengu/Loki. The loki would even potentially be better with its web bonuses.

His Legion fit was:

[Legion, C3 farmer]

Corpum C-Type Medium Armor Repairer
Imperial Navy Energized Thermic Membrane
Corpum A-Type Energized EM Membrane
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Large Capacitor Battery II
Cap Recharger II
Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed Script
Federation Navy 10MN Afterburner

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M

Medium Nanobot Accelerator I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Legion Defensive - Nanobot Injector
Legion Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix
Legion Offensive - Liquid Crystal Magnifiers
Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Legion Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer

Gilas are very good, nice DPS also. we use them V cruisers and Frigs and let the missile boats hit the battleships.

Of course a Gila will need some RR loving but the tengu can do that, of course if the tengu is getting hit it will need to be able to tank without any incoming remote reps.

A safer, but very solid method would be 2x RR tengus t2 fit, i even took an oracle in one a few times, but it came smoking almost every time lol.

You need something with utility slots for webs and TP, since they speed things up against frigs and cruisers. Also, it has to have a tank to withstand the pounding. Guess what?

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

Loki can work if you think of it as a support ship - webs etc. It will never as good on-paper as the tengu though.
I actually have a heavy missile loki fit that is... most interesting to say the least :) Tested this wierd loki with a tengu in a C4 and it worked fine (site down in ~25 minutes). For C3s i think you better off with using turrets though cause you get a lot more of the smaller ships.

I actually fly a loki and a mate of mine in his tengu.
Actually works great;
I forget the name of the offensive subsystem I use in the Loki, but it has a nice tracking speed bonus and I'm using 220mm Vulcans, so you don't need webs for the frigs - they pop, extremely fast!

And when your in close to the battleships, orbiting around 500, the Loki with hail, out-dps's the tengu.

The only downside, is that you have to chase the sleepers.
But, it is a very effective sleeper basher. You just have to pay a bit more attention to your manual flying.

I tried the missile fit loki - it sucks balls!
Just not nearly enough dps to be isk/hour effective.

TL;DR
Loki is awesome.

And you are going to be so sad trying to shoot those sleepers bs at range...
