Getting bored by Wreck Thiefs

I smashed my way through a cheaky lvl 4 mission today, as the last Battleship fell to the withering fire from my Rohk's Rail Guns I noticed a cheeky beggar stealing the Wrecks in my mission site. I would have thought this was as bad as stealing out of someones can? I would have taken great pleasure in obliterating the offenders Cormorant but alas.....not allowed. I am just curious why the game mechanics always seem to have loopholes that protect the bad guys. They are even being sneaky about it, making an alt in a noob corp is just plain cowardice as they truly are untouchable. I wonder if he would have done that if I was allowed to shoot him.....probably not.

It is a lame practice and IMHO should be as punishable as stealing out of cans is.

Whatevs little miss "I describe everything by the adjective 'Cheeky'", this 'beggar' was likely just an interstellar garbageman, cleaning up all the rubble and junk you left behind.

Due to the many correctly spelled words in your post, I was able to determine that you'd like to turn your 'withering fire from your Rohk's Rail Guns' to obliterate a 'wreck theif'...apparently the guy in the cormorant wasn't even stealing, otherwise he would have been red to you and you could have shot him.

But I digress. Where are you smashing your way through 'cheaky' level 4 missions? Please contact me ingame with your system, station and times you run missions, and I'll arrange a meeting where you'll be able to 'witheringly obliterate wreck theifs...those cheeky beggars' until your heart is content.

If he had actually given you the opportune moment to shoot.

You'd be a ship down and likely a tidy sum of ISK (in your terms) short.

Too bad...this would make your thread more tearful...and a lot less whiny.

PS: If you didn't catch the subtlety... he didn't steal from you...according to the game mechanics. I'm sure (already have) people will offer opportunity for you try.

PS2: Only "Cheeky" thing I see here is your avatar's face...sorry to say.

I think I'll just leave this here...

Per CCP Mitnal:

"Our policy on this is extremely clear... Salvaging is a mini-profession within EVE and does not constitute stealing."

Per GM Faolchu :
GM Faolchu wrote:
Salvaging other peoples wrecks.... This is an intended game mechanic and is in no way an exploit. People salvaging your missions npcs or the player you just blew up are doing nothing wrong. The players are salvaging what is effectively floating rubbish in space and Concord places no value on this wreckage.
Eve is a harsh place you won't always have everything go your way, its a do or die world and people do what they can to get along. If salvaging some wreckage gets them a few more ISK someone will do it, it doesn't matter who just blew it up.

Per Senior GM Ytterbium :
GM Ytterbium wrote:
Players are still completely free to salvage other pilot wrecks at will ... and doing so is not considered as an exploit.

Per CCP Prism X :
CCP Prism X wrote:
Why is stealing salvage OK? It's not. It shouldn't even be possible to move an item from your cargo-hold / hanger to another persons cargo-hold / hanger without opening a trade window. Before the salvage enters those containers it is not considered your stuff by the server code. Hence it's not stealing.

Per CCP Incognito :
CCP Incognito wrote:
Had a chat with some designers this evening.
Ninja salvaging is intended game play. It was always intended that the wrecks are public, the loot is private.
They do not see it as a problem if others salvage your wrecks.

OP

Please submit the name of this amateur in the cormorant class space vessel to me at your earliest convenience. If he was not "red" to you in your mission space, he is clearly in need of instruction from the professionals in our alliance. Such poor customer service by a non-union ninja is an affront to the profession and the upstart needs to be shown the error of his ways. Now, please be so kind as to relocate to the Dodixie mission hub so that our trained professionals can service you... er.. something like that.

I thought it was a given rule that if you were running lvl 4 without a Noc alt then you didn't want the wrecks and only interested in blitzing. Is that no longer true?Oops
