Limited Testing log for Caldari Heron exploration Frig

Salvager
Rocket Launcher

Med
Codebreaker
Analyser
Medium ancillery booster
Adaptive Invul
Small shield extender

Lows

Type D PDS

2.1K EHP
35/48/61/68
51.8 DPS (3 x hobgoblin + 1 x Rocket Launcher)
========================

due to havng to scan down the sites etc, useful sites found were limited. found numerous grav sites before finding an Mag site. Mag site was unguarded so won't be listed.

Unknown Gurristas Site.
3 waves of 2-3 Frigs - No problem at all, kept shields above 70% and the drones did most of the work.
1 Wave of 3 Destroyers - took me down to 10% shields by the end of the fight, scraped through, felt ok and that i should have just fit my heron alittle differently to make up for the 30second delay once the ancillery ran out of charges to reload.

This is where I had a problem -

Radar site - Local Guristas Shattered Life-Support Unit

4 x Frig + 2 x Battleship

I was unable to break the tank on the battleships and the info shards cannot be looted without all the NPC's being killed.
===============================

I don't beleive that the T1 exploration frigates will be up to the challenge of being an AIO Highsec exploration ship

NOTE: spoke to an ISD who found it odd that all other factions versions of this site did not have Battleships in. only Guristas.

Can I please get some feedback on this? should the Highsec Radar site listed have Battleships in?

Actually that site has had those battleships for as long as I've done HS exploration, so at least for years.

EDIT: It certainly deviates from other HS radar sites, but I like that not all the sites are carbon copies of each other.

Whilst I agree with you in principle, the new exploration frig model is designed so they can do the Highsec sites on their own. the battleships in this site make this an impossibility for a low/med skilled player.

True. If CCP intends to nerf highsec profession sites to make them all soloable by a newbie in a non-combat frigate, you are absolutely correct. I guess I'm just disappointed, that all highsec profession sites seem to be balanced according to a challenge level every explorer surpasses during their first week in the game. Currently there are loads of those easy sites for the newbies, but also a few harder ones. With the new plan that progression is removed and once you do your first profession site, you've reached the pinacle of what highsec profession sites can offer to a player. And that is just lame.
