So, for no apparent reason I have to stay at my keyboard while mining. Do I sit here and twiddle my thumbs? Oh and can I borrow 10m.

Edit: No one gets the obvious sarcasm and reference to a specific douchebag that has been popular on the forums lately.

You can watch a moving and if you hear "the asteroid is defeated" then switch screens and mine more roids, or search contracts for nice deals then compare to market price if you find a good deal buy then sell quickly and make a profit.

You don't have a spare 10mil from mining? Might want to change professions... I heard being a Pirate can make you a bit of cash...

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

You should watch local chat diligently for if an agent of the New Order asks if you're afk, it is your duty to reply.

IBTL,

also why not try joining a null sec alliance and going and mining out there? Then you get to watch local, participate in the intel channel, have a sense of identity and purpose in the game, feel like your mining really means something.

Or just sit there bored.

Thanks

I think he's probably looking to actually keep some of the ore he mines.

You could practice using D-Scan, use a Survey Scanner to ensure you are not wasting cycle time on asteroids, and set up your new targets, Optimizing yield.

Oh look, another post from an NPC alt implying that nullsec miners mine for free.

Oh look, another goon making assumptions.

Look up the word "some" in the dictionary, you'll find that it isn't the same as "all".

Forget that, I might as well mine in highsec using an NPC corp alt.

Well. Would that be the truth or not? I haven't seen any actual numbers of profitability of null-sec mining vs. high-sec (strictly looking at ore-values), but isn't Arkanor still the top of the list for value?

*edit* Also in favor of using a high-sec alt to mine is the upkeep of the rumor that Goons don't mine at all.

I think the reason is apparent. Its a multiplayer game. I suppose if you want to get specific, its a massively multiplayer game.

You don't have to be at your keyboard however, you only have to accept the potential consequences of not being at the keyboard.

Another player in this multiplayer game may attempt to interact with you, and if you are not there to respond and interact, i suppose that simply comes with the territory when you are afk :)

A better question, for you and the probably dozen other people starting this thread today, why do you think this is threadworthy?

tl;dr

I'm sorry you were non-con-sensually interacted with in a multi-player game while you weren't playing it.

It's like this. If you mine in a belt, hahaha. If you mine grav, you get some Ark, and then you have to mine all the other stuff.

Pros: You can use Rorqurals, no need to grind standings to refine.

Cons: Can get hotdropped, shot by blues, have to ship stuff back to sell, etc etc cloaky camped and so on. Refining isn't the easiest in nullsec either. Though producers will buy your lowends for better than Jita price.

In some other places, you may have to deal with people cherry picking good stuff, CTAs, having taxes on the refineries. And having Industrial V makes it an obvious target, if only for a camper with half a fleet waiting for their cyno.

... But yes, I will be mining in highsec perhaps. You win CCP.

Well, at least I found out how few people actually know who the new order is. It puts a smile on my face to know that barely anyone knows about them.
