Actually a simplistic meta filter in the market search would be extremely beneficial if you consider the following examples:

"Invuln /t2" - Shows you T2 invulnerability fields
"1600mm /m4" - Shows you meta 4 1600 plates

If I were a CCP dev, I'd consider it a good days work if at the end of it a person could type "ECM /m4" into the search box in order to be presented with a list of all meta 4 ECM modules. A GUI could of course be made, but as a piece of low hanging fruit, a meta filter text flag would be sweet.

If a filter-only search term was entered, I would think it makes sense to filter the actual tree view itself, rather than displaying everything found in its top level parent node i.e. "ship equipment"

As for breaking them down, I'd imagine it depends on how many are shown, things such as armour plates should be broken down into their thickness in the same way that shield extenders are, rigs could possibly do with being broken down into T1 / T2.

Could you please add subcategories for the various shield and armor resistance modules, like in EFT? (Invul fields, em hardeners, etc...)

On the topic of market changes, can we please get a t2 only filter for the ship equipment section? It's really annoying having to scroll down 15 million assorted t1 nano platings to find the standard t2 adaptive nano membrane that 99.999999% of us use. Alternatively, place t2 mods at the very top of the list since they are the most commonly bought/sold/used. It's just one of those little annoyances that drives me and everyone else up the wall.

Quoting this for attention, having a T2 subheading similar to faction/deadspace/officer subheadings would be really goddamn useful.

CCP FoxFour, I'd like to bring this to your attention. This would drastically reduce the time older payers spend in the market.

I doubt it, but there are a few categories that are really big and could maybe use some breaking down. What if categories like Resistance Plating and Energized Plating were broken down into damage type?

Good idea, still T2 filtering is interesting idea.

You could add advanced filtering menu as dropdown from regular search window

add filtering boxes like:

Show meta 0
Show meta 1-4
Show t2
Show faction/other

with all of them checked by default

Also could be aded:

Filter by skills (only modules you can use)
Filter fitable (active ship can use it with enough CPU/PG left)
etc...

A way to easily find tech2 modules would be nice yeah, I would like a new column allowing us to class items by meta level.
it's sometimes pretty hard to find the good one when you search some tech2 small blaster for example.

Sorting by meta level would be nice too.

Anyway you can split the Armor Plates all into different size categories? i.e. all 1600mm plates together. It's a big pain at the moment because they're listed by first number first. For Example 1600mm (biggest size) is between 100m and 200m (which are frigate sized plates). Also, unlike shield and armor hardeners where you use different types, its very rare for people to use two different size of plates, and this is one of the biggest market groups at the moment, with 36 items shown.

Any update on this? Sorry if I missed it.

Would it be too much to ask to reorganize the ship trees too? It's pretty tedious to click for example

Ships > Cruisers > Advanced Cruisers > Heavy Assault Ships > Gallente > and wow there are 2 ships buried here under 4 subdivisions. Even just removing the race part so say all hacs are under HAC category would go a long way. As is, the ship tree feels quite over-organized.

I shall attempt to look into this but no promise. I think most people are pretty happy with the ships section and there are other areas that need a lot of work so even if it is deemed as needing a pass it will be low on the priority.

No sorry, been a bit busy with AI changes to look much at the market. I will be doing more market changes this sprint, over the next week and a bit, so should be able to get back to you soon if I touch this area.

How about a spot on the market for BPCs. Contracts are rife with scammers.

Unfortunately with how we do BPCs we cannot put them on the market, at least not easily.
