Won't help if there are no slots anywhere but in your POS.

Yeah. That's kinda the point.

Relax folks, this griefing tactic will never take hold, for several reasons:

1. It would require a massive, co-ordinated effort to jam up all high sec slots.
2. Some of these station slots are not cheap. To jam up one slot at 1000 ISK/hour for one year is 8.76 Million. That is chump change, but when you suddenly have 10 copy slots, and 10 ME slots in a station, then we are starting to talk serious coin.
3. It would require patience, since it takes time repeat this tactic ad nauseam.

Plus, as someone already pointed out, the null sec alliances NEED these slots, so it is highly unlikely they would get involved, so this stupid grief will die on the vine.

1. Correct.
2. Totally unnecessary. You can do some serious damage by clogging one for a mere six months.
3. Depends on how many people are doing it.

And no, we don't need those slots - anything of importance can be done with a hisec research POS run from an unaffiliated alt corp.

No, he absolutely did. This destroys the 100% invulnerable researching from NPC stations. It's a fabulous find. POS holders are deccable.

And if they're decced... it's almost as if there's an alliance out there that specializes in that kind of highsec war thing...

Keep it up, DEC SHIELD !!

It would cause a lot of trouble, but even so, it would be quite interesting to see the outcome of this sort of thing.

Though I would caution those looking to do this to consider what action CCP might take to solve this issue. They could very well go and do something that would result in things being even easier for the people you are trying to cause problems for. Just a thought.

well done OP, well done.

anything that makes hisec less profitable, less convenient is good.
CCP is already handling more safe, as it should be.

Im not sure what the goal here is, what is is that you want CCP to do exactly?
The current system of research slots not freeing up when a job is done was put in place to discourage the use of "place holder bpo research" where a npc job slot would be advertised as rentable by a player, and a time set up where the current researcher would cancel his job and the new "renter" would start theirs when the slot came open. this was seen as bad by CCP and thus they changed it so that slots did not come open again when the job was cancelled.

Queuing up ten years pf research on every research slot doesnt make much sense to me as there are hundreds of open moons in systems with open corp office slots, sure those towers are vulnerable, but they dont offer any real reason to be killed, the bpos are still safe in station, and all you would conceivably lose is the tower itself. operation of small towers in hisec are cheap easy and annoying to kill. grinding pos is never fun i don't understand the point of this.

also there are large alliances that provide research already for a fee or free. are you decing those guys already?

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

This 'technique' has probably been going on for quite awhile.

Does the OP even think he is the first EVE Player in a DECADE to think of this ?

Every Industrialist worth their salt, and worth the game of EVE, already has a Research capable POS.

This will just uselessly force a Patch and New Rules. Sigh. It never ends with these 'guys'.

Gathered a good bunch of guys and was having some fun getting organised. I-Friends comes looking for easy kills and attacks our Alliance. The Alliance has them pretty much pinned already but im a little more viscious.

T2 Assault Ships against 1 week old Indy players? Wow, tough guys. Zerg says hi and I start to smile :)

Joining imminently.

Well considering I already do my research at a POS in highsec, I give it my support Lol. Have at it hoss, though like others have said you might be spending significant isk and setting yourself up for click fest of doom. Too me that sounds more like un-needed torture rather than griefing lol

I just pay others to research at their POS'es for me but yeah, it's too bad research at NPC stations can't be limited to less then 7 days so that access maybe available sooner then 2 or 3 months.
