Ice Mining (high sec?)

Good Morning,

I just reactivated my accounts yesterday after 2+ years. I love ice mining, and for some reason it really relaxes me after a long day at work. I suppose its the ice and the blue mining lasers.

I was looking for information on ice and high sec star systems, but some old mining systems I lurked in no longer show ice fields on their information. I haven't flown to them to look yet, but I'm a little concerned.

Has ice been removed from high security space?

Use this website: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ to find ice systems (the ones on map with blue ring around them).

There is plenty of ice systems in high-sec.

I would suggest mining ice in Halaima, Kamio, Eloynaya, Sirseshin or Uotila

They are trying to, at any rate.

They are mostly failing, from what I saw....:)

Cool

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Check Dotlan or the KillBoards from Monday and Tuesday. 146 popped in Brapallile alone.

edit: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Sinq_Laison#kills24 Looks like about 26 the past day. Busier thiss weekend there for sure.

Don't go there. There's some miner bumping group there asking for 10 mil isk or they bump you off your roid with around 10 ships.

But it is to your benefit to mine there.

A large fast ship slams into you. You depart at speed.

This leads to you being out of range.

Bumping and ganking solution:

Use a skiff. Tank the hell out of it.

Let it orbit the ice doing about 200 m/s.

Walk away and come back to a full ore hold as the bumpers and gankers fail over and over.

Why tank the hell out of it? Bumping does no damage.

I do agree moving makes it a lot harder for people to bump you, also mining on the outside, rather then the inside curve of mining belts can help deter the laziest bumpers.

Honestly, there should be an anti bump group for each sector of empire space. If people can counter bump, bump miners back, and/or teach them how to web each other to stay safe, along with the above mentioned, the tears and fun would be glorious.

Because it's a skiff that is afk. Your comming back to a full hull anyway and if they can't bump you they will probly grab a few destroyers and try to take your skiff and your pod out just for messing with them.
If you do it heavy tank you can pull off over 120k health and really make them mad.

If this 'bumping' does turn into a really serious widespread problem, all CCP has to do is change some simple code to where if a ship has lasers or weapons engaged, the ship becomes 'immaterial' and other ships will pass through it like at the initial undock from a Station.

Bumping is not even an ISK earning activity. Besides, 'bumping' is something children do behind the bushes in kindergarten.

CCP won't do a thing because it's "emergent" game play. The one thing that would force their hands would be en masse canceling of subscriptions. That and a cease of activities from ALL miners and industrialists. Like ALL OF THEM, at least in highsec. That would send a very "vote with our wallet" clear message.
