I did a quick search and found no mention of the above subject, if a thread already exist, it evaded me... Anywho, it needs to be stated that CCP simply dropped the ball on the new Min dessy model. Its simply THAT bad. Please CCP, have another go at it, do it for the children.

I think he is referring to the look, not the specs. You can find it on the EVE Facebook page.

It and the Amarr model are terrible. The designers should feel bad. But big props on the Caldari and Gallente versions.

Angry trolls need to leave momma's basement and work on social skills.

Please, refrain from using your words if you have nothing constructive to add, pretend we are in a room speaking to one another, can you do that?

Agreed, the Gal and Cal models are beautiful, the Amarr looks okay, although the similarity to the existing dessy does seem a tad lazy. I could imagine all the creative fervor was spent by the time the Amarr model was designed and apathy had taken hold when Min came due.

You may personally think that your destroyer doesn't look that great. Who cares. Here's what I've discovered:

It deals more DPS than the Caldari one, at the same range. (The extra low slot is huge here.)
It is significantly faster and has only SLIGHTLY less EHP than the Caldari one.
Where's it's sig radius? It barely compares to any of the others in that respect, and one of it's bonuses means it doesn't get significant sig bloom from using a MWD.

Perhaps the additional DPS is there due to the fact that explosive damage is generally quite well defended against. I don't know. But the point is, from a functional standpoint you have a very decent looking ship. Doesn't matter if you're going with standard launchers or rockets, you're going to be able to set up a build that's going to do damage. Caldari one IMO only offers anything unique if you're packing rockets and putting a shield extender in a medium slot, that's it.

Point is, judge the ship on it's capabilities, not it's appearance.

if u wanted ur ships to look pretty why are u flying minmatar?

put away ur feminine side and be glad it has big honking missile launchers on it and goes really fast.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

Ummmm.... I can appreciate the "who cares what it looks like, I like the specs", I can.

But … when the ship is being designed right now, in front of us, and we the community have the chance to say, “hey, that kind of looks like ****. Maybe try a different approach or adjust the specific parts we told you that look like ****.” There is nothing wrong with that.

So … this topic was to bring attention to CCP that “we the community find your Minnie and Amarr designs terrible, before it’s too late, please don’t do that” is somewhat constructive. You saying “who cares?”, is not.

To put this in prospective, I’ve developed an analogy to illustrate such point:

The local cosmetic surgeon has 4 new patients to give breast implants/reshaping/lifting/reductions to. You are their husbands/boyfriends/local molesters; and your job after the surgery will be to play with them, mostly against their wishes.

The surgeon has produced two really amazing products on 2 patients (caldari/gallente), gifting them with perfectly shaped contoured Triple D breasts and even proportioned the nipples perfectly. The two men couldn’t be happier. The other two men wait patiently for their results.

One patient (Amarr) comes out looking the same. The man is fine with such mediocre results, but wishes better.
The last patient (Minmatar) comes out with deflated flat sacks of skin torn to bits with scarring.
Your answer is: “Who cares? Boobs are boobs.”

I frown at you.

My feminine side, what?

Its an internet spaceship game, everyone wants to fly cool/unique looking ships. Where in the EVE mythos does it say that Min ships can't have appealing design aesthetics?

The part in which it states that they often suffer from extreme resource shortages (Sebiestor tribe information) and generally end up tacked together with whatever's at hand, due to the fact that they've only recently managed to claw away their freedom from the Amarr (and even then that's because they dun goofed and took on two factions, one being the closest things to the original human colonists left, at once).

Their ships are built to do something, not to look pretty. That's Gallente.

Yes, please hijack my thread, because this is really about my poor/hasty search results and not about my desire to see a better Min model.

Again, completely irrelevant posting skills exercised, well done and thanks for contributing nothing but your pettiness.

You quote me and then failed to address my premise, numerous examples could be shown wherein engineers/designers created legendary and "badass-looking" vehicles, weapons, etc... in the midst of turmoil or with little on hand.

BTW, I think Gal ships are quite good and do more than just look "pretty".

the concept art isnt so great, but the actual model looks pretty cool. it reminds me of some sort of old school sub or a deep sea monster from the dark ages, kinda like the hurricane does. its not pretty looking, but it is cool looking, and the solar panels on the front make me want to ram things with it. i think all of them will turn out pretty good honestly, the art teams for eve are much better than they used to be

The art teams are getting much better, I agree. That is exactly why I'm perplexed over the new Min dessy. I don't mean to blow this out of proportion, I'm not going to rage/quit EVE. I feel that the Gal/Cal models took cues from their racial Tier 3 BCs, wish Min and even Amarr could have had similar treatments. As to cool looking, I respect your opinion but I think you're in the minority.

I really wasn't wrong, there is no thread for the artwork so it makes the most sense to talk about it in the Dessie thread.

Although CCP has previously said that the artwork is ready and the art team is in no way shape or form looking for feedback yet.

Also i think it looks great, ****** up, but great.
