If you actually look past the "one last cash in" issue (which btw is effecting all factions, we all planned one last cash in ... not just caldari) the sudden appearence of these changes actually favours caldari heavily. After the announcement, the last 24 hours became a land grab for Caldari and there is / was little Gallente could do to stop caldari flipping a huge amount of systems (including some strategically important ones) which will be all but impossible to flip back with the new changes.

So while yes, caldari may have been hit rather harshly by missing one more tier 5, you can stil cash in all those LP's at tier 3 prices and you'll be in a pretty strong position with the amount of systems you own come tomorrow (if your system flipping continues the way it is until downtime)

Positives and negatives on both sides, hardly a ccp conspiracy to destroy the Caldari militia.

TL:DR - **** happens, but my lazors are still firing so lets have at it ...

TY, and agreed, Maybe I am "salty" that 50-100 guys do this all for a 9000 person faction. That's between me and god.

What I am concerned about is why the ninja rule change?

WHY?

TBH, "we" dont care about the LP dump. Those guys can kiss sand. Farmers farm, I PvP.

I am worried that the change favors the enemy (Galls) with defensive plex upgrades and system cotrol loss without recourse. That is disturbing.

PS, certainly will not "destroy" Calmil, that has not been my point or aurgument. We will fight, outgunned, outnumbered, etc etc, from here until your titans rot. It was the method that got me. That's all.
if it's between you and god, then why are you haranguing about it in the forums??

As for why they did it, it was because they are losing money. FW LP system flooded market with cheap goods, drove down prices, plex prices soared, players ( non FW) left game because of it.Money. That's why they done it.

That, and they always get a good laugh in the office in Reykjavík when they come up with a new way to screw Caldari pilots, it's always a blast.

this thread is showing only how CCP was wrong with their approaches to original concept of FW.

Before Inferno I told them keep it simple ... nobody wants null light .... your overcomplicated system will ruin the game. I remember how I was hated by CSM members and some CCP.

Voila ... game is kinda ruined (and also your incomes).

FW should return to the core and remove all the shity complicated stuff. It is funny that FW missions were isk generators, but were exploited only in limits. All new systems implemented by new FW developers casused more mayhen and turned FW into Farmville and caused vets to leave or exploit.

I will repeat myself for hundred times. Keep FW simple and come with complex (and simulated/tested changes) to whole lowsec.

I appreciate the changes to plex mechanics, but still u making small scale fight complicating ...

As ex game developer I understand your emotional motivations and rational pressure, however making game for yourself is wrong (which was the first lesson I learned on designing Hidden and Dangerous).

agreed, 1st version of FW was best, no special income for FW people, then CSM ankh came and wanted some better rewards for missions etc...

anyway, inferno was really not so bad with all those farmers, farmers were not the problem, problems was insane game breaking rewards.

now FW area is once again mostly empty. People defend but when everything is defended i bet there no one doing anything.

To be released on Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Factional Warfare

A cap on Victory Points in Factional Warfare systems has been implemented. At this time the cap is 100 VPs past whatever threshold is needed to make a system vulnerable.

Because clearly obvious pandering to Gal/Matar crowd after continued favouritism over the years is a pure coincidence and not at all designed in advantage with plans probably leaked well in advance to right people based on fact that frogs were perfectly positioned to take advantage of the new changes.

For example, why dont attacker get LP for vulnerable systems but defender does? Could it be because CCP wants Gal/Matar to keep more systems than opposition. I can bet that come winter, LP for defending will be removed since Cal/Amarr cannot make as much isk for it.

CCP has shown favoritism to factional warfare milltias who are "losing". However, I'm not sure what they were losing. System control never mattered back then, untill the resent isk printing machine. Factional warfare was ment to be transitional from its inception.

Alot of the issues surrounding factional warfare is player related. CCP CAN NOT control player innovation or abuses.

Another issue is old and bitter players who're incapable or aren't willing to transition; new pilots enter factional warfare and will ultimately be indoctrinated into old rivalries and hate.

Many in this thread are trying to turn factional warfare into something more persistent. 0.0 but, with station, no bubbles and sentry guns.

If you want to battle over system control so much. Why not move to null (0.0)? There is small gang and solo pvp there no matter what you've heard and that has never changed. There's also VERY large fleet engagements.

CCP should have ENDED factional warfare a long time ago. If you want assets to fight over there are moons and poco's in low sec. P sure you can make isk form those.

No, they went to null sec.

It's beside the point. FW can be a really fun way to get pick up fights quickly without the traditional issues of PvP in null sec, waiting infinitely for fights, neccessity to bash, just the stuff *some* people don't enjoy.

Man, so much hate for no reason in this thread. I guess it's not popular to say CCP screwed something up. Apparently you can't say it without getting called names, etc.

I wonder if I would have gotten equally "bashed" had I just nodded along and said, oh, great job CCP, you are the best and your FW changes make amazing sense.

Maybe somebody would be like, wow, you liar, get bent. I kinda doubt it.

Anyway, I had mentioned before that I don't give a **** and this was a commentary. That's what threads are for. NO reason to call people names over divergent opinions.

Everyone gets found out for what they really are eventually.

WTF.

Walls of text, tiers, moar tiers and fail arguments,

Look all of you playing internet game on caldari FW side, shoud give a huge THX to CCP on last change.

Whith that simpel ninja move CCP did make a big favour to all of us,real FW players.

Caldaris did benefit toons from this change and whan you do realize that i hope you will come on this forum post and apolagize to CCP.

1.No more gunles farmers.

2.Market price of all itimes will go back to normal and real profit will be made by real fw players and nos gunles alts.

3.Caldaris and ammars got inuf sistems to overcome .....improved position.

4.Whith tier upgrade Lps are generous and every faction wil be abel to get stuff from fw store on resonabel price and keep fw flame on.

5.Less skilled players can run offensive plex for lp ( farming alts in here, but thay will nead to have guns on cose in new sistem if there is a plex to defend it means it is being atacked so gunless ship will not help a lot in there) so new players will have thair role in fw and still get stuff from store to sustane thier pvp.

Well then we would be mad that we weren't able to counter cap your capped systems. Yada, yada, yada. In the end it will likely be a "soft" reset. Damar will still live in Intaki, Gallente in Nenna, with at least 20+ systems on each side to get us to baseline Tier LP payouts.

Caldari had the upper hand, with 50+ Gallente systems vulnerable and ready to be flipped at the optimal time.

Unless Gallente could make 50+ newly-flipped systems vulnerable from 0% within two days, there's really not one hell of a lot they could have done about it.

Yes :) And the Caldari have had all this morning in their unopposed DT timezone to flip systems too, I expect the cal/gal warzone to come out relatively balanced after all this.

Caldari had"ALL MORNING" to bust 50+ bunkers with less than a day's notice?

Well that clearly makes it okay, CCP Kermit!

IIRC, you managed to flip 12 systems in the day before this was announced - I wasn't watching yesterday.

Today, the Caldari flipped one system. There were a lot vulnerable when I logged in in the US TZ, and still 8 vuln now, a bunch at 98%+. Definitely was at least 12 vuln still.

If the Caldari had kept up the same momentum today busting bunkers, that would have put the caldari at 46 and gallente at 55. That's not that far apart.

I think we finally see what the gallentes meant after their last (unoptimally timed lp dump btw) when they kept smacking "Caldari will never again reach tier 5, outside force will take care of it". They pulled the CCP card again, as usual.

This is bit like Formula One season being interrupted midway by arbitary rules such as drivers championship points get redistributed randomly, cars must be 20 pounds lighter, drivers 20 pounds heavier and Ferrari is not allowed to have a red car.

Mjolnir buddy... I respect you for the fights you bring, but really, the only thing you guys have to complain about is missing out on your last cash in.

There are even still SO many vulnerable gallente systems ready for flipping, that if you do flip, will be nigh impossible for us to get back, all you have to do is take them. the only way this could be better for you guys would be if you had just done all the flipping on say, Saturday, and had already controlled them. It's just that you have to rush before all your farmers jump to our side for the easy LP from deplexing those systems now.

either way, in a couple weeks I'm looking forward to not seeing so many farmers, allowing us to concentrate on fighting each other again.
